Joint Site Visit to South Station

Date: 13 April 2013 (Saturday) Time: 8:40 am to 5:00 pm

Project Introduction: Guangzhou South Station is one of the largest railway stations in China: z Opened to public in January 2010, total Gross Floor Area approximately 600,000 sq.m., construction cost approximately 13billion RMB; z Station with High Speed Rail to Wuhan, Zhengzhou and Beijing, among other cities; z Interchange with Guangzhou and 7, Guangzhou Zhuhai Intercity Railway; z Future interchange with Line 12, Metro , Delta Regional Rail.

Registration The number of participants is limited to 47. The cost of this trip is HK$200 for CIHT members and HK$500 for non

CIHT members. Those wishing to join are requested to complete the reply slip and return it with a signed cheque by post to MVA Hong Kong Limited (attention: Mr Vincent Chan), on or before 23 March 2013. It will be on a first-come- first-served basis with priorities given to members of the Institutions. Applicants are required to note that neither the Institution nor the parties concerned accept any liability in connection with the visit. (Please note that applicants will be banned for 3 consecutive visits if fail to turn up after successful acceptance)

Tentative Itinerary (Exact schedule and location map to be provided in the confirmation email.) 8:40am Assemble at Kowloon Tong Station 9:10am Coach departs to North Station 10:40am Coach arrives 11:20am Take High Speed Train to Guangzhou South Station 11:56am Arrive at Guangzhou South Station and depart for lunch by coach (lunch included) 1:30pm Return to Guangzhou South Station for de-briefing and visits 3:30pm Depart Guangzhou South Station for Kowloon Tong Station 5:00pm Arrive Kowloon Tong Station and dismiss

Special note 1) Late comers will not be entertained. 2) Those who do not turn up after successful application, or do not process valid travel document, will not be re- funded with cheque sent. 3) The Institutions have the right to cancel this site visit at their discretion. If this happens, cheque sent with applications will be returned to applicants within two weeks.

A brief report of the technical visit (not more than an A4 page) is invited from the participants after the visit. The best report chosen will be mounted on the CIHT-HK Branch web site. An appreciation certificate and a cash coupon will be awarded to the author.
