TEXT, PHONE AND EMAIL ALERTS Employees and students are strongly encouraged to sign up for text messages and email messages that will alert them to emergency situations, direct their course of action, and notify them of both the "ALL CLEAR" and situation outcome when it is safe for such noti cation to be made.
Employees — Employees may sign up for emergency text and email noti cations online by going to our Intranet, in the left hand column under Electronic Resources, click Emergency Noti cations, login, and choose the type of alerts you prefer, i.e. text, cell or home phone automated calls, and/or email.
Students — Students can also sign up for emergency messages online during registration or by logging into their "MyPierce" account and clicking on the Emergency Noti cations link. All credit classes at Pierce College have an online presence in Canvas, which you can access at pierce.instructure.com. Ask your professor for more information on procedures that will be followed if the college ever cancels classes unexpectedly.
