replacedBy Taylor Messick The 61st Street bridge over Chisholm Creek in Park City will be replaced. On Jan. 22, the Park City council unanimously agreed to enter a contract with the Kansas Department of Transportation to ensure that the city receives funding for the replacement of the bridge, which is just west of I-135. The contract is a standard one requested by KDOT for such projects and it simply gives the state agency authority over the project. In return, KDOT will provide about $4 million for the new bridge. Council member John Lehnherr empha- sized his belief that the bridge is one of the prime gateways into the city and he has pushed for the new bridge to be aesthetically pleasing.
