KRPI AM RADIO: Context Photo Exhibit (CUP2013-00004)

This document and the attached photos discuss and depict typical locational contexts for existing AM radio facilities in the area, for the purpose of providing perspective on public comment regarding potential visual impacts from the antenna array and compatibility with the character of Point Roberts.

AM antenna facilities are located throughout the , Whatcom County and lower areas. These facilities are located in a wide variety of areas, including rural, agricultural and urban commercial and residential areas. The attached site context and aerial photos provide examples of local AM antenna facilities located in areas across the spectrum of land uses and densities. They provide anecdotal support for the applicant’s position that the proposed antenna array will not have a detrimental impact on the character of Point Roberts and will be compatible visually with Point Roberts.

Selected Whatcom County facilities:

There are five AM antenna facilities in Whatcom County; these are located in rural areas, agricultural areas, within the City of Bellingham and also along the fringes of the City of Bellingham and Ferndale. These facilities have all been at their current locations for 20+ years. These are:
