The Mighty Thor: an Origin Story Free FREE THE MIGHTY THOR: AN ORIGIN STORY PDF Rich Thomas,Jeff Clark,Stan Lee,Jack Kirby | 48 pages | 21 Jun 2011 | Marvel Comics | 9781423144656 | English | New York, NY, United States How Jane Foster Became the Mighty Thor - and What It Could Mean for the MCU The fourth installment of Marvel Studios' Thor series, Thor: Love and Thunderwill start filming earlywhich is very exciting, especially with someone else taking The Mighty Thor: An Origin Story the Thor mantle. Details about exactly how Jane becomes The Mighty Thor: An Origin Story are not yet known; however, fans have a plethora of Marvel comics and MCU films to speculate from. In the comics, Jane endures a harrowing journey as the new Thor. First, the original Thor becomes unable to lift Mjolnir and loses his status as God of Thunder, leaving the title up for grabs for anyone worthy. The hammer summons the next worthy person, which happens to be Jane, so she takes on all of the responsibilities of Thor. If the hammer, which is still in existence in other timelines, does call for a new master in the MCU, Portman's Jane could be the one summoned, like in the comics. Being Thor is exciting, but like all heroism, it comes at a cost. While she is Thor, Jane is also battling cancer, The Mighty Thor: An Origin Story she doesn't let this stop her from doing what is right as the Goddess of Thunder. However, in doing so, the chemotherapy is being undone by Mjolnir, so being Thor is killing her. Whether or not the film includes Jane's cancer, it could see her suffering physically from taking on the role of a god given that, as the comics establish, all magic comes with a cost. Along with looking at her time as the Mighty Thor in the comics, the MCU can look back at the previous films to set up this version of the Goddess of Thunder. This theory specifically proposes that in this new timeline, Thor is dead, so a new Thor The Mighty Thor: An Origin Story needed. In his absence, Jane proves herself worthy of the title and becomes the Goddess of Thunder. Even if he isn't dead in the alternate timeline, he could be unworthy of the hammer, which would tie back to the comic origin of Jane's Mighty Thor. The comic and film lore Marvel as a whole has generated over the years in regards to Thor Odinson and Jane Foster is enough to set up the introduction of the Goddess of Thunder in the MCU. I'm a fan of Thor, so I was happy to find this book. The art is fantastic and the story is easy to follow and fun to read. Explaining the Might Thor's Origin, in a format which children can understand is no easy task, but this book did it perfectly! The Mighty Thor: An Origin Story writing was very basic, and this made the story very easy to understand. The illustrations were exquisite, and I would like to say a much deserved 'well done' to the Storybook Art Group! The illustrations made the book very engaging, and I could only imagine how much a younger reader would adore them. Thor is definitely not my favourite Marvel Comics, or Movie, and Explaining the Might Thor's Origin, in a format The Mighty Thor: An Origin Story children can understand is no easy task, but this book did it perfectly! Thor is definitely not my favourite Marvel Comics, or Movie, and I haven't really gelled with the story. Yet this book has grabbed my interest, and I am definitely looking into buying some Thor Comics! Although I love all things Marvel, I couldn't help but yearn for a more complex writing style, and a detailed plot. However, I recognise that the book us written this way, as it is a Children's Story book. This book will definitely be displayed on my bookshelf, until I have my own children, and can watch as they dive into an epic universe I love! I will also be doing a mini analysis of some of the illustrations! Please check it out! I'm glad there are these books to help me understand the super hero origins, as my toddler son is getting interested in super heroes and I don't know anything about them. This book is helpful in that area, but it feels a little piecey. I know they have to o condense a whole lot of story into a short children's picture book, but I think a few more details to help tie each page together would have been beneficial. That said, my son really loved it. Apr 28, Sara Bland rated it really liked it Shelves: children-s. This is The Mighty Thor: An Origin Story classic story of Thor, the man with superpower strength. This book would definitely get the attention of children The Mighty Thor: An Origin Story enjoy superhero stories with cool comic book style illustrations. The writing is higher level than that of a very beginning reader, probably most appropriate for children in grades 1st-2nd. The story is long and would probably be a bit much for a younger child to pay attention to. Aug 05, Anne rated it really liked it. This is a great way to introduce you children to both super heroes and comics. Even though it is written as a picture book it still captures comics in both its art and story. This is the story of how Thor became a super hero on earth. It is easy to step from this story to the Norse Mythology of Thor and can be used as an introduction to mythology with children. Feb 25, Lauren rated it liked it Shelves: stuff-my-son-likespicture-books. These Marvel origin stories are pretty neat. The illustrations are exciting and the text is good The Mighty Thor: An Origin Story third-grade level readers or for read alouds to younger kids. The Empowering Squirrel Girl Jayme Horne Submitted for History of Art 390 Feminism and History of Art Professor Ellen Shortell Massachusetts College of Art and Design All the strength of a squirrel multiplied to the size of a girl? That must be the Unbeatable Squirrel Girl (fig. 1)! This paper will explore Marvel’s Squirrel Girl character, from her introduction as a joke character to her 2015 The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl comic series which is being harold as being extremely empowering. This paper aims to understand why a hero like Squirrel Girl would be harold and celebrated by fans, while other female heroes with feminist qualities like Captain Marvel or the New Almighty Thor might be receiving not as much praise. Squirrel Girl was created by Will Murray and artist Steve Ditko. Despite both of them having both worked for Marvel and DC, and having written stories about fan favorites like Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, Iron Man, and others, they are most known for creating Squirrel Girl, also known as Doreen Green. Her powers include superhuman strength, a furry, prehensile tail (roughly 3-4 feet long), squirrel-like buck teeth, squirrel-like retractable knuckle claws, as well as being able to communicate with squirrels and summon a squirrel army. She was first introduced in 1991, where she ambushed Iron Man in attempt to impress him and convince him to make her an Avenger. That’s when they were attacked one of Marvel’s most infamous and deadly villains, Doctor Doom. After Doctor Doom has defeated Iron Man, Squirrel Girl jumps in with her squirrel army and saves Iron Man1 (fig.
