Part I: Kicking Techniques

Front Side Kick

Key Points:

A. After the round-house kick, place foot back under the right shoulder. Do not drop it straight down in front of your left leg.

B. Turn your head to look at the target.

Part V: One-Step

Attacker: Body .

Defender: Right foot step forward into horse riding stance, right hand palm block, right strike to solar plexus, right hand backfist (strike upper lip). Shift into front stance, left hand face punch, Kihap.

Key Points:

 Stay close to attacker. After the plam block, you are close enough to hit solar plexus with an elbow strike.

 From horse-riding stance to front stance, remember to lift your right foot and step forward into front stance.

Attacker: Face punch.

Defender: Left foot outside crescent kick, blocking attacker’s punch (striking at the wrist). Right foot step back into kicking stance. Right foot round-house kick to the face, step down into forward stance, left hand face punch, Kihap.

 Adjust your distance to properly block the wrist.

 Round-house kick targets the temple. Attacker: Face punch.

Defender: Right foot side kick to attacker’s solar plexus, step back with left foot into kicking stance. Left foot round-house kick to attacker’s body, step down into forward stance, left hand knifehand block and right hand face punch (at same time), Kihap.

Part VI: Self Defense

Rolling - Forward

Key Points:

A. Use your legs to push yourself forward.

B. Drop your arm across your body. At the same time, lay your head toward your shoulder. The goal is to create a flat surface over your shoulder.

 Push off with your legs with enough momentum to get your body completely over.

 Tuck your head to your shoulder and roll over shoulder.

Attacker: Grab right wrist with left hand.

Defender: Left leg step back into walking stance and rotate right hand clockwise while pushing palm away.

 Follow through quickly to break the grip.
