We would like to encourage families to attend our Fiefia Night, which is taking place in our Small Gym tomorrow night at 7pm. Come and support our wonderful Tongan Group. We would also like to invite families to enjoy our Performing Arts musical, which we are thrilled to announce that this year is Chicago. Opening night is Saturday. We are delighted to learn that Anastasija has won 3rd prize Last week our Year 11 student Griffin Little competed in in the Yoobee Secondary School’s LIGHT & DARK Character four categories at the “Taekwondo Star Series” at Bruce Design Competition with her emotion-set: Serenity & Rage. Pulman Park in Takanini, with his Tamaki Club. We are thrilled to congratulate Griffin on his Gold The character’s emotion displayed is‘ Serenity’. Huge medal in Patterns and a Bronze Medal in Sparring. congratulations to Anastasia who receives prizes worth over These are outstanding achievements! $2,000.

Selwyn’s Geography Students Enjoy Learning out and about in Tamaki Makaurau

Geography classes have been out and about exploring Tamaki Makaurau for their NCEA research assessments for the past few weeks. Level 1 and Level 3 Geography went to the CBD to collect data on the purpose and use of public spaces and Level 2 Geography went to sites of different heights - Sky Tower and Rangitoto Island. On these field trips, students are required to collect data, take photos and complete surveys with the public. Some Level 1 students were lucky enough to survey Peter Burling and Blair Tuke of Team !

Level 2 Geography students on Rangitoto Island With Blair Tuke and Peter Burling - Ms Wood, Ella Lash, Hollie Level 1 Geography students at Auckland Viaduct Maguire, Ella Romans, Khushi Desai & Lyi Sorn Monong Wonderful TLC Students’ Success On Thursday 25th March 2021 the students from the Totara Learning Centre participated in the“ Special Olympics NZ Central Secondary Schools Athletics Event” at the Pakuranga Athletic Club, Lloyd Elsmore. It was great for the students to socialize and compete with students from other schools in the region including Pakuranga College, , and many more.

The students enjoyed shouting out their chant: “Selwyn College, Aim to Soar Totara tigers, roar, roar, roar!”

And soar they did, as the photos show.
