PINEWOOD GROUP SUBMITS PLANNING APPLICATION FOR SCREEN HUB UK

Wednesday 30th September – have today submitted the planning application for Screen Hub UK. The proposal sets out plans to expand and combine Pinewood Studios with an international film-inspired visitor attraction, an educational training hub and a business growth centre, to provide a facility of UK-wide and global significance.

Screen Hub UK is a 750,000 sq ft global growth hub to be based at Pinewood Studios in accordance with the UK’s and ’s strategy for the creative industries and tourism sectors. The Hub comprises an international film-inspired visitor attraction; an expansion of studio production space; education and business growth hubs; all set within a green campus.

The submission marks the 84th anniversary of the opening of Pinewood Studios by J. Arthur Rank on 30th September 1936. The following years have seen Pinewood Studios develop into an essential contributor to the creative industries sector and the world-renowned film production facility it is today.
