(In Service) 2019.3.1~ About JGN

JGN International • JGN is a network testbed Tokyo operated by NICT. Circuits (Oct. 2017-) – NICT is a national research and Hong Kong development agency in Japan. Bangkok – JGN started in 1999. 100Gbps 1Gbps (JGN/SingAREN/NSCC) • JGN has international circuits as well as domestic ones. Singapore – 100G: Tokyo-Hong Kong-Singapore (JGN/SingAREN/NSCC) – 1G: Singapore-Bangkok • JGN supports cutting-edge network experiments. – Ex: uncompressed 8K video transmission

17 JGN supports LHCONE in Asia

• JGN started the operation of KREONET LHCONE router at Hong Kong (KR) SINET – Big science is a driving force (JP) of next-gen ICT infrastructure TEIN (HK) JGN • Under the collaboration with (Tokyo-Hong Kong) SINET, JGN supports LHCONE JGN ASGC between Japanese and Asian (HK) (TW) academic organizations – JGN established LHCONE peering with SINET, KREONET, JGN (SG) ASGC, and TEIN-HK

18 LHCONE between ESnet and Asia • JGN also started the support of LHCONE between ESnet and Asia – JGN established LHCONE peering with ESnet, and exchange routing information between ESnet and Asia (TEIN-HK, ASGC, KREONET) – This is under the mutual cooperation with TransPAC • We also thank to WIDE to support the interconnection between JGN and TransPAC/Pacific Wave in Tokyo
