HYDERABAD INSTITUTE OF THEOLOGY AND APOLOGETICS (HITHA) is the first of its kind in India, a theological institute with a difference. HITHA’s approach reflects a paradigm shift to focus on the Christians in the Marketplace. To paraphrase Francis Schaeffer, if we are to impact any nation for Jesus Christ, we would have to affect the Seven Centres of Cultural Influence that are the pillars of any Society — Government, Commerce (Business), Education, Family, Religion, Arts and Entertainment, and Media. Our aim is to train those in the body of Christ’ with a special focus on Professionals working in the Marketplace (their respective workplaces), those interested in knowing the word of God more deeply, growing spiritually, being witnesses in the marketplace, and serving the Church in whatever way possible by using their grace/ service/gifts. Our students begin their journey starting from a foundational biblical-theological framework through which they interact with various philosophical, cultural, political, ethical, professional, academic, and other challenges they face in the world. Hyderabad Institute of Theology and Apologetics (HITHA) aims at providing theological training relevant for the 21st Century with the academic distinctives of being: 1. Biblically Sound, 2. Disciples Of McIntire TIMOTHY TOW Far Eastern Bible College Press Singapore, 2002 Disciples of McIntire © 2002 by Timothy Tow Published by Far Eastern Bible College Press 9A Gilstead Road, Singapore 309063 Republic of Singapore http://www.lifefebc.com ISBN: 981-04-6692-7 Cover Design by Charles Seet 2 Disciples of McIntire Dr. Carl McIntire, Faithful Servant All praise and thanks to Almighty God For Dr. Carl McIntire, faithful servant of the Lord, Who was raised up to stand against the apostasy And continue the Reformation in the 20th Century. At the funeral service in Collingswood, New Jersey, The Lord blessed mightily with thanksgiving and victory. To God be the glory, great things He has done For all who have believed in His Only Begotten Son. The highlight of Dr. McIntire’s funeral Was the faithful preaching of the Gospel, Just as this dear departed pastor had done so In this Bible Presbyterian Church many years ago. Remembrance is the hallmark of gratitude; We give thanks to the Lord for He is good. We pray that we too will be faithful To proclaim the Gospel and carry on the battle. For the Word of God and the testimony of Jesus. Let us persevere in the race set before us, For the defence of the Truth and for the pure Gospel Of our Lord Jesus Christ, the only hope of the world. — Dedicated to Dr. McIntire by the Three Musketeers through the pen of Lehia Paauwe, March 26, 2002. 3 Contents Preface ................................................................................................ 6 Chapter 1 The First Two................................................................................ 8 Chapter 2 Valiant In Fight By Dr. -
1995 Rev (Dr) Timothy Tow 9A Gilstead Road, Singapore 309063
1 The Singapore B-P Church Story © 1995 Rev (Dr) Timothy Tow 9A Gilstead Road, Singapore 309063. Cover by Roger Wong of Canada ISBN 981-00-7057-8 Published by Life Book Centre 9A Gilstead Road, Singapore 309063. Printed in the Republic of Singapore. 2 To My Beloved Sister Dr Tow Siew Ai a lover of the Bible-Presbyterian Church and Twentieth Century Reformation this book is affectionately dedicated 3 Grant Us Men Both Strong and Faithful By the pow’r of Truth unchanging Working in the lives of men, God did raise the B-P movement From a humble little band. By His grace He set a fire Burning well within their hearts, To dispel the clouds of darkness Which had come unto these parts. Through the years of change and challenge Came the testings, not a few When their faithfulness was threatened, When they needed to be true! But the Truth which God had given They did steadfastly defend ´Gainst the waves of false religion Which assailed on every hand. Now the call has come upon them To prepare the way ahead, As to Moses came the Wisdom To train Joshua as the head. Who will keep the fires burning When their strength has ebbed away? Who will bear this awesome burden In this great, momentous day? Let the ones whom God has chosen Be resolved to take the lead, With their goal: to keep on doing What their predecessors did! Lord most gracious, most abundant, Grant to us this prayer, we plead, Grant us men both strong and faithful, Men who will fulfil our need.
