Betty White: First Lady of Television Join us for our August Festival: August 17th – 26th UPDATING KRWG ACROSS PLATFORMS

You may have noticed a small but important change in our logo this month. KRWG TV/FM is now KRWG Public Media.

While TV and FM will always be at the core of what we do, KRWG Public Media is more reflective of the services we provide. We deliver our content online via krwg.org, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. You can also listen online to our FM stream. TV delivery devices like Roku, AppleTV and Amazon Fire bring our award-winning local and national content into your home. We even delve into the world of print with our monthly Airwaves guide.

The media landscape is evolving at a rapid pace, and we felt that to keep up with that evolution, our name and logo should better reflect the services we deliver now…and five, ten, even 25 years from now.

As a member or underwriter, you can still choose to support TV, FM or both. That will always be the case. With your continued patronage, KRWG Public Media will deliver content to you in the manner that best suits your needs.

Thank you for being a member of KRWG Public Media!

Adrian Velarde, General Manager Changes coming There is a change coming for Truth or Consequences viewers who watch KRWG-TV channel 40 and Deming viewers who watch KRWG-TV channels 46 and 49 over the air. On or about the first week in September, we’ll be making a change in Truth or Consequences, moving to chan- nel 33. Also, around the same time period, we’ll move to channels 24 and 29 in Deming. This change affects over-the-air viewers only. There will be no changes for viewers on cable or satellite systems. Channels and dates are yet to be finalized so please visit krwg.org/channel-updates for the most current information. The information above is our proposal to the FCC who will assign our new channels in the near future. Once the changes are complete, over-the-air viewers will have to reprogram their TVs in order to receive our new channels. This procedure varies depending on the model of the TV, but it is usually located in the menu of the TV under “auto program” or “setup” or something along those lines. If you have questions, please call 575-646-2222. visit krwg.org/channel-updates KRWG-TV Weekday and Weekend Schedule...... 5 Prime Time Schedule...... 6

You may have heard KRWG’s new reporter on NPR before she even got to the station on her first day. Mallory Falk had a story run on Morning Edition about legal is- sues on the family separation at the border from El Paso before she arrived at the KRWG studio that morning. A two-time Edward R. Murrow Regional Award- winner and a 2016 USC Annenberg National Health Re- porting Fellow, Mallory started as a multimedia reporter in June 2018. Mallory looks forward to her time here at KRWG and says, “I’m thrilled to join the team. I look forward to learning more about Las Cruces and helping to cover vital stories in the region.” Originally from Pittsburgh and a graduate from Mid- Mallory Falk, Multimedia Reporter dlebury (Vt.) College, Mallory joined KRWG through for KRWG. the “Report for America” program, which sends journal- ists into local newsrooms. Before taking on this job, she was a freelance journalist in El Paso, which resulted in the Morning Edition story, and was a regular contributor to the radio show The Texas Standard. She has an admiration for the landscape in this region saying that, “Because of where I’m from, I never thought that the sky could be so blue.” Mallory worked with NPR-affiliate WWNO in New Orleans where she was an educa- tion reporter and also produced What My Students Taught Me, an education podcast for The Atlantic magazine. At KRWG, Mallory will be covering regional issues such as health care, education, economic development and the environment. KRWG is honored to have Mallory join the team and look forward to her contributions on the radio, on TV and online.
