Listed below are noteworthy road works of which the Traffic and Road Safety Section has been informed. Details are supplied as per information received by 16:00 hrs. on the preceding Thursday. Emergency road works cannot be forecast.

ROAD CLOSURES

(Night Works)

Section 75 Roads Act 1993, Temporary Closure of the M50 Motorway between Junction 16 Cherrywood and Junction 17 (M11 Merge) and the M11 between Roundabout and Junction 5 Bray North

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, on behalf of Transport Infrastructure Ireland, in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 has made an order to temporarily close the M50 Motorway between Junction 16 Cherrywood and Junction 17 (M11 Merge) and the M11 between Loughlinstown Roundabout and Junction 5 Bray North.

Dates of Closure:

The Northbound carriageway will be closed from 28th August to 11th September 2020, from 10.00pm until 6.00am

The Southbound carriageway will be closed from 24th August to 4th September 2020, from 10.00pm until 6.00am

Alternative routes available for vehicular traffic are as follows:

M50/M11 Southbound will run from 24/08/2020 until 04/09/2020

Diversion for traffic travelling Southbound on M50 (Closure at Junction 16 CHERRYWOOD)

Take M50 Junction 16 Southbound exit slip and continue on R118 for approx. 1.2km Turn right onto N11 Southbound merge Travel South on N11 for approx. 800m towards Bray to the 1st Roundabout Take 1st exit from roundabout onto R837 and Travel South for approx. 1km towards Bray to the 2nd Roundabout Take 3rd exit from roundabout onto R119 Southbound and Travel South for approx. 2.2km towards Bray to the 4th Roundabout. Take 2nd exit from roundabout and merge with M11 Southbound.

Diversion for traffic travelling Southbound on N11 (Closure at Loughlinstown Roundabout)

Take 1st exit from Loughlinstown roundabout onto R837 and Travel South for approx. 1km towards Bray to the 2nd Roundabout Take 3rd exit from roundabout onto R119 Southbound and Travel South for approx. 2.2km towards Bray to the 4th Roundabout. Take 2nd exit from roundabout and merge with M11 Southbound.

M50/M11 Northbound will run from 28/08/20 until 11/09/2020

Diversion for traffic travelling Northbound on M11 to N11 (Closure at Junction 5 Bray)

Take M11 Junction 5 Northbound exit slip Turn Right onto Old Connaught Avenue, continue for 550m and turn Left onto R761. Continue straight through the 1st roundabout and travel North on R119 for 2.2km Take 1st exit from 3rd roundabout onto R837. Travel North on R837 for approx. 1km to the 4th roundabout Take 3rd exit from roundabout onto N11.

Diversion for traffic travelling Northbound on M11 to M50 (Closure at Junction 5 Bray)

Take M11 Junction 5 Northbound exit slip Turn Right onto Old Connaught Avenue, continue for 550m and turn Left onto R761.

Continue straight through the 1st roundabout and travel North on R119 for 2.2km Take 1st exit from 3rd roundabout onto R837. Travel North on R837 for approx. 1km to the 4th roundabout Take 3rd exit from roundabout onto N11

Continue to travel North on N11 for approx. 1km Turn Left onto R118 for 1.2km and re-join M50 Northbound at J16 Cherrywood.

A Traffic Management Plan will be in place and diversion routes clearly signposted, as agreed with Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and An Garda Síochána. Local and emergency access will be allowed at all times.

ROADWORKS / LANE RESTRICTIONS

Road Works Speed Limit Order, No.2 of 2020 on the M50 and M11 Motorways in the County of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown

Notice is hereby given that Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 10 of the Road Traffic Act, 2004, in the interests of road safety and to facilitate the resurfacing of the M50 and M11 motorways has made an Order entitled Road Works Speed Limit Order, No.2 of 2020 on the M50 and M11 motorways in the County of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown to apply a road works speed limit as follows:

M50/M11 Southbound will run from 24/08/2020 until 04/09/2020

Description of speed limit order 80km/hr:

• Part of the Southbound M50 between a point 535 metres North of the existing Stonebridge Road overbridge to a point 35 metres North of the existing Stonebridge Road overbridge (Total 500m in length).

Description of speed limit order 60km/hr:

• Part of the Southbound M50 & M11 between a point 35 metres North of the existing Stonebridge Road overbridge to a point 505 metres North of the existing M11 Junction 5 overbridge (Total 2130m in length).

• Part of the Southbound M11 merge from a point 45 metres North of the pedestrian overbridge adjacent Loughlinstown Roundabout to the end of the merge taper (Total 1740m in length).

M50/M11 Northbound will run from 28/08/2020 until 11/09/2020

Description of speed limit order 80km/hr:

• Part of the Northbound M11 between a point 125 metres South of the existing Old Connaught Avenue overbridge to a point 10 metres South of the existing M11 Junction 5 overbridge (Total 500m in length).

Description of speed limit order 60km/hr:

• Part of the Northbound M11 between a point 10 metres South of the existing M11 Junction 5 overbridge to a point 5 metres South of the existing M50 J17 (M11) overbridge (Total 2160m in length).

• Part of the Northbound M11 diverge at M50 Junction 17 from the start of the diverge taper to a point on N11 45 metres North of the pedestrian overbridge (adjacent Loughlinstown Roundabout) (Total 1850m in length).

» Dundrum Village ***

DLR Traffic Section will be installing a One-Way System, northbound only, on Dundrum Main Street and on Road for 140m from Dundrum Cross.

Access to Upper Road from Dundrum Cross will also be prohibited.

These measures are for an indefinite duration.

» Village **

Minor works will take place along Convent Road in Dalkey Village on Monday, 10th August 2020 until Friday, 14th August 2020 between 09:00 and 17:00 hrs.

A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation.

» Enniskerry Road / Village Road Junction **

Removal of concrete footpath, installation of boundary wall, construction of new bus layby and reinstatement of new footpath will take place on Monday, 10th August 2020 until Friday, 6th November 2020 between 08:00 to 18:00 hrs.

A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation.

» Sydney Avenue, Blackrock ** (between the Junctions of Avoca Place and Green Road)

Footpath restoration works will commence on Monday, 10th August 2020 until Friday, 21st August 2020 between 08:00 and 18:00 hrs.

A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation.

Sandyford Cycle Route (Kilgobbin to Drummartin Link Road) ***

Provision of footpaths, two-way cycleways, junction buildouts, new kerbing, new traffic signal layout and toucan crossing, street lighting, soft landscaping, utility provision and utility diversions and all associated works. Project works will continue until May 2021.

Traffic Management measures will be in operation at the following locations until further notice: ▪ all approaches to the junction of Drummartin Link Road and Blackthorn Drive ▪ all approaches to Junction 14 - M50 Rotary ▪ hard shoulder closed on Drummartin Link Road between Blackthorn Drive and J14 M50 Rotary.

# Goatstown Road / Roebuck Road ** (Night Works)

Installation of delineation kerb for cycle lane commenced on Wednesday, 29th July 2020 until Friday, 14th August 2020 between 19:00 and 05:00 hrs.

A Stop / Go Traffic Management Plan will be in place

# Coastal Mobility Interventions ***

DLR has prepared a plan to implement coastal mobility interventions to reallocate space to cyclists and pedestrians.

To facilitate the measures, the following vehicular restrictions are being put in place:

• Seapoint Avenue One-Way for vehicles from Coal Quay Bridge/York Road Junction to Newtown Avenue. Vehicles will travel west along this route (towards Blackrock). • A small section of Old Dunleary Road will be made two-way for vehicles from the West Pier Campus to Cumberland Street (at the Purty Kitchen) from Friday, 24th July 2020 to enable access for residents and businesses. There is no Left turn allowed from Clarence Street onto Seapoint Avenue. • Queen’s Road will be One-Way from Park Road junction (at the People’s Park) to the entrance to the Lexicon Library and Pavilion car parks (westbound towards Dún Laoghaire).

Page 5 of 7 • Queen’s Road, at the Park Road junction, to Avenue West will be One-Way eastbound for vehicles, i.e. towards the Forty Foot.

Works commenced Monday, 29th June 2020 and will continue until Friday, 14th August 2020.

A Traffic Management Plan will be in place and diversion routes will be signed.

Protected Cycle Routes – Various Locations around the County *** (may be Night Works)

Installation of flexible bollards at junctions around the County. Work to take place over a period of two to four weeks between 09:00 and 16:00 hrs. Some of the works may proceed at night.

Dundrum Area Protected Cycle Routes:

1. Kilmacud Road Lower/Eden and Drummartin Road junction 2. Blackthorn Road and Blackthorn Drive (near the Beacon Hospital) 3. Blackthorn Road / Blackthorn Drive / Benildus Avenue Junction 4. Churchtown Road / Beaumont Avenue Junction

A Traffic Management Plan will be in place for each location.

NTA Protected Cycle lane Works ** (Night Works)

Benildus Avenue / Goatstown Road

• Works will continue until Friday, 28th August 2020 from 19:00 hrs. (Monday to Thursday night only).

A Stop / Go Traffic Management Plan will be in place.

N11 – Loughlinstown Roundabout to UCD ***

Cleansing Works (Road Sweeping/Gully Cleaning/Weeding) commenced on the N11 on Monday, 27th July 2020 for approximately two to three weeks duration between 10:00 and 16:00 hrs. Monday – Friday, and 07:00 to 15:00 hrs., if required, on Saturdays.

The works will be carried out between Loughlinstown Roundabout and University College (UCD).

A Traffic Management Plan will be in place

Windsor Terrace – Dún Laoghaire Baths Redevelopment **

During August the building will be made weather tight. Structural concrete walls, including sea walls will continue. Installation of pedestrian deck will commence. There should be no Traffic Management restrictions on Windsor Terrace except for the delivery of materials, which will be short-term and between 10:00 and 16:00 hrs. - Monday to Friday.

N11 – Southbound (between Park Junction and Brewery Road Junction) **

Upgrading of public lighting columns and lanterns. Work will commence on Monday 29th June 2020 until Friday, 28th August 2020 (intermittent) from 10:00 to 16:00 hrs. and 19:30 to Midnight (if required).

A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation for the duration of the works.

Newtown Avenue, Blackrock **

Road works, on behalf of Gas Networks Ireland, commenced on Tuesday, 4th August 2020 until Wednesday, 30th September 2020 from 07:00 until 20:00 hrs.

A Traffic Management Plan will be in place

Wyattville Link Road, Cherrywood ***

Road works in the northern verge and central median of the Wyattville Link Road between Tullyvale and the M50 will continue until October 2020.

A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation.

Public Lighting Lantern and Bracket Upgrade Works **

Public lighting lantern and bracket upgrade works will take place on:

1. Road Lower 2. Road 3. Tivoli Road 4. Avondale Road 5. Ballinclea Road 6. Road 7. Glenageary Road Upper 8. Woodbine Road 9. Vico Road 10. Monkstown Road

These works will continue until 22nd December 2020.

A Stop / Go Traffic Management Plan will be in operation as required.
