The draft will be taken up for consideration by the State Election Commissioner after fifteen days from this day and any objection or suggestion with respect thereto, which may be received by the Commission within the said period, shall be duly considered. As a part of Arsenic Mitigation Program, Dept. of Health &PHED, Govt. of West Bengal are entrusted in arranging for treatment for arsenicosis patients and supplying safe water to the arsenic affected population respectively. However, there are many pockets in the State that neither has the required medical treatment facilities to treat Arsenicosis (Disease caused by arsenic exposure) nor an Arsenic-free safe water source to be used for drinking and cooking purpose.. Though the State has formulated a mandate and has resources to execute it, there is still lack of clarity and interdepartmental coordination due to which the expected services are not being delivered.
