January marks the 25th anniversary of the HAVEN Program, an outpatient HIV clinic that 01 provides multidisciplinary care to people living with HIV .

HSN CEO, Dr. Denis Roy receives the 2017 03 Community Builders’ Award for Health Care.

The Patient and Family Advisory Program releases its Annual Report. Throughout the year, Patient 16 Advisors were involved in over 75 projects to improve patient care and experience.

HSN Foundation hosts Taste St. Beach Party 31 fundraiser to support the purchase of vital teaching equipment and the building of the new Learners’ Centre. Over the last four years, the event has raised over $260,000.

April

The Northern Cancer Foundation awards a total of 13 $450,000 in grant funding, to allow scientists in Northern to improve care for patients.

A new research fellowship is created in honour of outgoing CEO, Dr. Denis Roy, in partnership with the 17 HSN Foundation, Northern Cancer Foundation and NEO Kids Foundation.

HSN celebrates Volunteer Appreciation Week. HSN’s 24 volunteers served 123,183 clients and assisted with 7,012 patient discharges over the last year.

Dominic Giroux, President & Vice-Chancellor of 26 , will be the new President and CEO of HSN and HSNRI, effective October 2, 2017.

Elizabeth (Betty Ann) Paradis, Registered Nurse at 17 HSN, is recognized as one of 150 nurse innovators and pioneers in Canada!

HSN Foundation announces over $1.75 million 23 in funding from individuals and corporations to support the Learners’ Centre.

HSN’s Learners’ Centre gets the green light to go to 24 tender. The 28,000 sq ft facility will accommodate 2,000 learners each year.

The First Annual Research Forum takes place in Sudbury, with a theme of “Research Is Patient 13 Care: Reaching out to Northern and Indigenous Communities.”

HSN receives two awards for achievements in 18 organ and tissue donation.

HSN Surgical Program earns International Ranking 26 with the American College of Surgeons for patient care outcomes, in the top 10% of 680 hospitals.
