ow sweet it is! The Chamber’s annual Red & White Installation Gala and Sweet Things Auction is the place to be the weekend Hbefore Valentine’s Day at Alderbrook Resort & Spa in Union. More than 150 members and guests spend this special event celebrating the achievements of the prior year and getting energized for the year to come. We also recognize those members who have gone above and beyond in their service to the chamber and the community. There are many opportunities for our members to get involved. We have four committees, each chaired by a trustee. Ambassadors – Shawna Stice-Hawley, Edward Jones Investments; Government – Josiah Rowell, Falcon Financial; Education – Pamela White, OUTLOOK Writing & Design; and Shop Local, chaired by Kim Haack, Kitsap Bank. In addition, our members volunteer to grill oysters at our popular “Harry Martin’s World Famous Oysters” booth at the Taste of Hood Canal in Belfair and OysterFest in Shelton every year. fter years of hard work and fundraising efforts, Faith in Action ASenior Services broke ground on the HUB Center for Seniors, an exciting project that has united the community. Since 2001, Faith in Action has been known for “supporting independent living for their senior and disabled neighbors” through free, volunteer-based services for seniors in North Mason. “We realize that the aging of the baby boomers brings a new face to the word ‘senior,’”said Faith in Action Executive Director Patti Kleist. “Many of today’s seniors not only work, but are still extremely fit and active. We believe that we all benefit from relationships across age groups.
