Charles Boyd Douglas son of William Leonard Douglas and Alice Lydia Bruce Allen[1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10] was born on 01 May 1915 in Afton, Greene, TN[1, 3, 11, 7]. He died on 15 May 2002 in Grand Junction, Mesa, Colorado[1, 3, 7]. Notes for Charles Boyd Douglas: General Notes: Charles was a member of the United States Navy and served also in the Merchant Marines. He worked for five years for Alcoa Aluminum. He went from there to the Shell Oil company in July of 1944. He worked there until drafted into the U S Navy in 1945. Charles, aka Charlie, enjoyed hunting and fishing. He played both guitar and five-stringed banjo. Charlie remarried after his divorce from Jane and he and his second wife, Madeline, moved to Grand Junction, Colorado, where they lived until their deaths. Charlie and his daughters by his first marriage reunited after Madeline's death and the girls went to Grand Junction to meet with him and were able to meet two of his daughters by the second marriage. Madeline refused to meet Jane's children or to even acknowledge that the first marriage and children ever existed. Catherine Jane Lutes daughter of James Ercel Roy Lutes and Gladys Catherine Keebler[12, 4, 13] was born on 20 Mar 1921 in Omaha, Douglas, Nebraska[12]. She died in Sioux Rapids, Iowa[3]. Notes for Catherine Jane Lutes: General Notes: Jane graduated from San Francisco High School, San Francisco, California. She was born and reared in Omaha, Nebraska. She had her own radio show while in high school on the local network. She studied piano, voice, tap and gymnastics while in school. Jane, or Janie, as she preferred to be called, and Charlie eloped when she was just 21. She sent a letter to her parents from Las Vegas telling them that "by the time you get this letter I will be Mrs. Charles Douglas and there is nothing you can do about it. Jane and Charles should probably never have married. She was young and naive and had no idea what she was getting into and they had very little in common. The marriage ended in divorce. After her marriage to Charles, mother married Raymond Edward Pickrel in December of 1948 in the middle of one of the worst snow storms to hit the area in years. They moved to Elk Horn, Iowa, where Ray had purchased a locker plant and began their new life together. Ray was a butcher by trade. They remained in Elk Horn for the next 13 years. After several bouts with pneumonia, Ray finally had to give up his business and leave Iowa. They then went to Minneapolis for a brief period of about six months, where he was employed as a salesman of locker equipment. That job proved unsatisfying and Jane discovered that it was almost impossible to find a place to live there. They then went to Sonora, California, where Ray worked for his cousin, Elmer Merrihew, in the auto parts business. They first lived on a ranch outside of Sonora, then moved into town to a rental house owned by Elmer. After Katie graduated from high school, Ray and Jane moved back to Iowa, settling in the small town of Kimballton. Ray and Jane managed the local furniture store/mortuary. Their only connection with the mortuary was selling coffins, which is a common part of the furniture store business in the rural areas. He also was assigned to occasionally pick up cadavers to take to the funeral home. From there, Ray went into the business of feed sales and this is what he did for the remainder of his life. While in Sonora, Jane worked for Mundorff's hardware store. She then went to work for a bank, operating the keypunch machines. Jane had attended business school after her divorce and she handled all of the bookwork for the locker plant. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She also played the piano for a while, but finally gave both up. In her final years, Jane liked to spend her time bird watching. Unfortunately, she also had a gambling problem and spent a good deal of her declining years at the local casinos. It was discovered that she had been gambling heavily and in one brief period of about four years, had gone through almost $40,000 and was gambling away the revenue from her farm on an annual basis. Jane and her daughters had a falling out in the end and she spent her last remaining years alone. They never spoke again. Charles Boyd Douglas and Catherine Jane Lutes were married in May 1969 in Las Vegas, Clark, Nevada.They had 5 children. Madeline F Coomer daughter of G Roxie Coomer and Vonda A Coomer[14, 6, 7] was born on 07 Oct 1927 in Big Stone Gap, VA[7]. She died on 05 Feb 1997 in Grand Junction, Mesa, Colorado, United States of America[14, 6, 15]. He died on 17 Jul 1917 in Kingsport, Sullivan, TN[1]. Notes for William Leonard Douglas: General Notes: William Leonard Douglas is buried in an unmarked grave in Kingsport, Tennessee. Margaret and her husband lived on the Douglas farm in an old log house. Later they built a better house and remained there for several years. William Leonard Douglas was working on a home in Kingsport with his brother. He suffered from sunstroke and the landlady had them move out. His brother, Tom came and got him and he was with his brother when he died. A son buried his father in an unmarked grave over which a rock was placed. Under the rock was placed a piece of paper which was said to contain the words "Pap died today and is buried under this rock." No trace of this rock or paper can now be found. This information is according to family tradition. According to his son, Charles, William Leonard and his first wife never legally divorced, yet both remarried. No record can be found of this first marriage. It is possible that the first marriage was never a legal marriage but was rather, a common-law marriage. William Leonard was said to be a farmer. He was a coal miner in early life and later worked on one of the early dams below Greenville on the Nolachucky River. This is where he was working when he married Alice. According to Charles, William was a womanizer and only returned home long enough to father another child and would then take off again. After six children, she finally ran him off. From Greenville, he went to Kingsport and this is where he was living when he got sick and died. 3. Alice Lydia Bruce Allen daughter of Samuel William Allen and Laura Ellen May Love[25, 1, 16, 17, 5, 10] was born on 26 Nov 1883 in Greenville, Greene, TN/Greenville, Greene Co., NY[25, 1]. She died on 28 Dec 1964 in Knoxville, Knox, Tennessee[25, 1]. She still had a farm when she was in her 70s and at one point, wrote that she was 72 years young and still milking her own cows. She was said to have a very sweet disposition. Cause of death is said to be either cereberal hemorage or heart attack. Date of birth is further identified by the 1845 census wherein she is living with her mother, father, sister and grandmother.     Impact 2016 Little Ice Age Theory James A. Marusek I. Introduction General Discussion The sun is undergoing a state change. It is possible that we may be at the cusp of the next Little Ice Age. For several centuries the relationship between periods of quiet sun and a prolonged brutal cold climate on Earth (referred to as Little Ice Ages) have been recognized. But the exact mechanisms behind this relationship have remained a mystery. We exist in an age of scientific enlightenment, equipped with modern tools to measure subtle changes with great precision. Therefore it is important to try and come to grips with these natural climatic drivers and mold the evolution of theories that describe the mechanisms behind Little Ice Ages. The sun changes over time. There are decadal periods when the sun is very active magnetically, producing many sunspots. These periods are referred to as Solar Grand Maxima. And then there are periods when the sun is very weak producing few sunspot. These periods are called Solar Grand Minima. Solar Grand Minima correspond to dark cold glooming periods called Little Ice Ages. And there are states in-between. During most of the 20th century, the sun was in a Solar Grand Maxima. But that came to an abrupt end beginning in July 2000. The sun produced 6 massive explosions in rapid succession. Each of these explosions produced solar proton events with a proton flux greater than 10,000 pfu @ >10 MeV. These occurred in July 2000, November 2000, September 2001, two in November 2001, and a final one in October 2003.

    Ancestry and Family of Peter Davis of Warren County, North Carolina By Forrest King ([email protected]) From a study of the available records, Peter4 Davis was an active member in his community from his arrival in 1754 in Granville County, North Carolina until his death on 27 Jan 1804 in Warren County.[1] He purchased several tracts of land, was frequently found on juries, responded to filling community service requests, and was mentioned in other court documents. The events in Peter’s life before 1754 have been shrouded in both family folklore and conjecture. This paper will begin by showing that Peter4 is the son of Lewis Davis and a grandson of Peter2 Davis of Chowan County, North Carolina. This will be followed by a compiled lineage of these ancestors down through Peter4 and all his children. Brief overview of the ancestry of Peter Davis Peter’s proximity to a William Cooper in 1754 helps to identify his father. Peter4 first appeared in a taxable list in the summer of 1754 living near or next to this William Cooper.[2] On 11 Mar 1755, Peter purchased from William Cooper 100 acres of land on Buffalo Branch. The land description mentions a neighbor named Mr. Davis.[3] A study of land records shows that this next door neighbor “Mr. Davis” is Lewis3 Davis. As will be shown, Lewis is the most likely person to be the father of Peter. Lewis had initiated a request to patent his land from the colonial representatives of Lord Granville beginning on 31 Jan 1754.[4] Peter4 came to live on Lewis’ patent-pending land by the 1754 taxable list and then he purchased land next door.
