5 A New Family’s Hope: A way home without breaking the bank A high-risk pregnancy and the early arrival of her twins had new mom Cheryl and her boys Keith and Austin far from their home in Red Lake, northwest of Thunder Bay, for several weeks after birth. “It would have cost us thousands of dollars to purchase flights home from southern Ontario – or over 18 hours of driving with 2 newborns. Building flight capacity in Québec: Hope for the future Hope Air Volunteer Pilots Jean Messier and Gilles Lapierre took on the challenge of raising Hope Air’s profile and flight capacity in la belle province in 2012.
