U N I T E D S T A T E S A I R F O R C E CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT LATASHA S. MITCHELL Chief Master Sergeant LaTasha S. Mitchell is the Senior Enlisted Leader of the Texas Air National Guard, Camp Mabry, Austin, Texas. She is the principal enlisted advisor to the Deputy Adjutant General - Air for more than 2800 assigned enlisted personnel. Her responsibilities include advising the Deputy Adjutant General on all matters affecting the readiness, training, professional development and effective utilization of assigned enlisted personnel and coordinating with the headquarters staff, commanders, and senior personnel on administration and implementation of command policy. Chief Mitchell began her military career in the Colorado Air National Guard in 1997 as a Personnel Craftsman in the Mission Support Flight. As a traditional guardsman, she attended school full-time and worked as a civilian with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. In May of 2002, Chief Mitchell accepted an Active Guard/Reserve (AGR) positon with the Mission Support Flight as the Career Development NCOIC. During the period of May 2002 to Feb 2011, Chief Mitchell worked in many different sections within the Military Personnel Flight. She also supported Operations NOBLE EAGLE, IRAQ FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM. In 2011, Chief Mitchell was accepted into the Air National Guard Statutory Program and was assigned to Headquarters, Air Reserve Personnel Center in Denver, Colorado as an ANG Separations team lead eventually transitioning to the Superintendent for Reserve and ANG Separations while still in the Stat tour program. In 2013, Chief Mitchell left the statutory tour program and entered back into the state AGR program as the Military Personnel Management Superintendent in the Colorado Air National Guard with Joint Force Headquarters. In 2015, Chief Mitchell was selected to be the Force Support Squadron Superintendent with the 136th Force Support Squadron in Fort Worth, Texas. Prior to assuming her current position, Chief Mitchell served as the Command Chief for the 136th Airlift Wing.
