The original house has stone and brick elevations under a newly thatched roof and in the last two years during a complete renovation of the entire property and gardens, a contemporary rear extension was added to the cottage providing an outstanding new ‘wing’ comprising a wonderful large kitchen with bespoke free standing solid wood units, four oven electric Aga and sliding glass doors to a terrace and the garden, a boot room/ utility room and on the first floor a master bedroom suite with balcony. The old part of the cottage in contrast retains immense charm and character with fireplaces at both ends of the sitting room, one with wood burning stove, as well as exposed ceiling timbers, engineered oak floors and on the first floor two pretty bedrooms with glorious views over the front garden and countryside beyond. Outside The gardens at Aller Green Farm are a major feature of the property. From a quiet lane, the house is approached via a private gravelled drive which sweeps round to the rear of the property where there is access to a double garage with pitched roof and an adjoining lean-to store. The rear boundary of the new extension has a terrace leading out from the kitchen, beyond which the gravel drive continues to the pretty garden room/home office which has power and light. The mature, well stocked gardens fan out to the rear and are bordered by open farmland which offers splendid views. Adjacent to the garage is a kitchen garden area with raised beds. In all the grounds extend to about 0.7 acres. Situation Aller Green Farm is situated a short distance from the centre of the village of Ansty and is surrounded by splendid Dorset countryside. In the village there is The Fox Inn public house, from where Hall & Woodhouse, a famous local brewery originally brewed their beer before relocation to Blandford Forum, as well as an excellent farm shop with a good range of stock and a post office. Other villages of note in the area include Milton Abbas, famous for its thatched main street of houses and Milton Abbey, the public school. The towns of Sturminster Newton, Blandford Forum and the County town of Dorchester all provide an excellent variety of shopping, educational and recreational facilities. Sporting facilities in the area include golf courses at Weymouth and Broadstone as well as water sports available to the south along the Dorset coastline at Poole Harbour and Weymouth Bay. Communications in the area include the A31 to the south at Bere Regis and there are mainline railway stations available at Dorchester or Sherborne, both with a regular service to London Waterloo. The area is also well served by independent schools at Bryanston, Clayesmore, Knighton House, Hanford, Sherborne, Leweston, Canford and Milton Abbey. Directions From Dorchester take the A35 on to the Puddletown by-pass, turn left at the Blandford turning and next left at the roundabout. Follow the signposts to Cheselbourne, proceed through this village and then on to Melcombe Bingham. Proceed through Melcombe Bingham and into Ansty taking the turning on the right before the Fox Inn into Aller Green Lane. The cottage is situated on the left hand side after about 50 yards.
