RULES CHOREOGRAPHY and HOEDOWN SHOWDOWN Line Dance Definition Big Country Hoedown EVENT DIRECTORS PAUL MCQUEEN AND IAN TREMBATH th th EVENT DATE: FRIDAY 27 AND SATURDAY 28 AUGUST 2021 WELCOME TO NARRANDERA, THE HOMETOWN OF THE 2021 BIG COUNTRY HOEDOWN, LOCATED IN THE BEAUTIFUL RIVERINA REGION OF NEW SOUTH WALES A New Year of Line Dancing and a Fourth Year of Competition Under the Big Country Hoedown Banner. Venue We are excited to have been granted another year at the Narrandera Ex-Servicemens Club. The club is located at 39/45 Bolton Street Narrandera, NSW, 2700. If you need to contact the club, the enquiry number is 6959 1266 or if you’re after a lift to the club call the Courtesy Bus on 6959 1266 which is available Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5pm and Sunday from 11am. We are again grateful for the Narrandera Ex-Servicemens Club to be our Major Sponsors. We send a special thank you to Rick Boller, the Board of Directors and the Staff at the Club who over the past years have treated us with courtesy and respect while we compete in our much-loved sport. It’s so nice to receive this very positive attitude for our sport given that Line Dancing creates a strange connotation in much of the public eye. Many people including a range of Australians think we just do a small number of dances to one or two pieces of music. How wrong is that opinion! The Club has much to offer including a culinary team headed by Corey and Tegan Hammond trading as “The Blue Apron Steakhouse”. Wonderful food, service and yes, it’s always best to book. Payment options are Cash & EFTPOS. How Do I Get to Narrandera? There are several options to get to Narrandera using either bus, train, car, or aeroplane. FLYING: If you are flying to Narrandera, it is serviced daily by Regional Express or REX (13 17 13 or 6922 7545). Alternatively, you can fly to Wagga Wagga or Griffith. The competitors presenting their dances in-house have been a pleasure to watch and the efforts with prescribed clothing was much appreciated by Event Directors and Judges. This year the theme colour for Choreography is Red. The requirements for video presentations have changed for 2021. Judges have asked for these changes to fine tune entries, so they are all on an equal presentation footing/ground. Please check the rule changes in the appropriate section of the choreography. Please Remember: Video entries are an alternative way to sell your products for those unable to make the journey to Narrandera. You also have a chance to win a particular section. Video presentation of choreographed work was allowed in this competition to give you a voice in a very competitive environment.
