WHEREAS,in the Notificationissued with the StatutoryOrder first readabove, by invoking sub-rule(3) of the rule 116 of the Tamil Nadu Town Panchayats,Third GradeMunicipalities, Municipalitiesand Corporations(Elections) Rules, 2006, the Commissiondirected that all the contestingcandidates in the electionslisted thereinshall lodge a true copy of their accountsof electionexpenses kept by themor by theirrespective election agent under sub-rule ( 1) of rule 11 6 of the saidRules with the officersmentioned therein, within thirty daysfrom the dateof declarationof theresult of theelections; 2. WHEREAS,in the Notificationissued with the StatutoryOrder second read above, this Commissionprescribed a formatfor the saidpurpose by invokingsub-rule (2) of the rule 1i6 of the saidRules; 3. WHEREAS,this Commissionconducted ordinary elections to the urban local bodies duringOctober 2011 as notified in the StatutoryOrder third readabove; 2 4. WHEREAS, the District Election OfficerDistrict Collector, Dindigul District, in his letter fourth read above reported that 339 candidatescontested in the said Ordinary Elections for various offices failed to lodge copiesof their accountof electionexpenses as directedby this Commission; 5. WHEREAS, eight candidateshave submittedtheir accountsdirectly to the Commission. 6. WHEREAS, based on the report of the said District Election Officer,District Collector, Dindigul and other facts, a show causenotice was issued in the reference fifth read above to each of the 33 1 contestedcandidate, who failed to lodge a true copy of the account of election expensesin the Ordinary Elections held during the month of October 2011, through the District Election Officer,District Collector, calling for explanationwithin 2l days of the receipt of the said notice, as to why action should not be taken againsthim as per sub-section(2-A) of section49 of the Tamil Nadu Dishict MunicipalitiesAct, 1920(Tamil Nadu Act V of 1920); 7. WHEREAS, on receipt of show causenotices 16 number of candidateshave submitted their accounts directly to the Commission and the same have been forwarded to the District Election Officer in the reference sixth cited and informed to send his remarks alone with the reports of other candidates. 8. WHEREAS, the said District Election Offrcer/District Collector, in his letters seventhread above, has now reported that out of the said 331 contestedcandidates, one contestedcandidate Thiru.Kumaresan,Ward No.8, KodaikanalMunicipality expired,24 contestedcandidates lodged their accountsof election expensesalong with explanationand the remaining 306 contestedcandidates have neither submitted their explanations nor lodged the account of election expensesinspite of the show causenotices issued to them; and 9. WHEREAS, in view of the said report of the District Election Officer,District Collector, Tamil Nadu State Election Commission is satisfiedthat 306 candidateslisted in column (3) of the Table below against the contested election mentioned in the corresponding entry in column (2) thereof, have failed to lodge their account of election expensesas required by or under the said Act and haveno good reasonor justification for the failure. 10. NOW, THEREFORE, in exerciseof the powersconferred by sub-section(2-A) of section 49 of the Tamil Nadu District MunicipalitiesAct, 1920(Tamil Nadu Act V of 1920),the Tamil Nadu StateElection Commissionhereby declares that the candidateslisted in column (3) of the Table below againstthe contestedelection mentionedin the correspondingentry in column (2) thereof, shall be disqualified,for being electedas a Chairmanor a Councillor or a Ward Member for a period of three yearsfrom the dateof this Order. Rathakrishnan 2 ABSTRACT The present study was undertaken with an objective to find out the performance of Old Ayakudi guava Farmers’ Interest Group (FIG), Dindigul district, Tamil Nadu. The overall performance of the FIG were analysed using six variables viz., mobilizing support, exploitation resistance, identifying market opportunities, business orientation, marketing network and responsibility sharing The study revealed that majority of the FIG members perceive the performance of FIG at moderate level performance followed by high and low level performances. Keywords : Farmer interest group, exploitation resistance, market opportunities, business orientation, marketing network, responsibility sharing, Tamil Nadu.     INDUSTRIES DEPARTMENT POLICY NOTE 2006 – 2007 DEMAND NO. 27 INTRODUCTION The Government has a vision and a commitment. The vision is to accelerate the rate of economic growth in Tamil Nadu by maximising investment in industry and infrastructure. The objective is to give a boost to manufacturing, productivity, competitiveness and employment generation. Emphasis will be on enhancing the employability of the people and creating the right climate for all these to happen. The potential of the services sector will also be harnessed fully for economic development of the State. The commitment of the Government is to translate this vision into actuality within a time frame. 2. Accordingly, in the Budget speech for the year 2006-07, it has been announced that a new Industrial Policy will be announced in the current year, apart from setting up an Industrial Task Force under the Chairmanship of the Hon’ble Chief Minister. The Task Force will not only focus on new initiatives but also address the problems of the existing industries. 3. Chennai and its adjoining areas have become a major focal point in attracting new investments. There are however infrastructure gaps which need to be addressed. A High Level Committee has therefore been formed to identify infrastructure projects and to pursue implementation with the goal of transforming Chennai and its surroundings into a World class investment destination. The other parts of the State will also receive equal attention. Industrial hubs and IT Parks will be set up in Tier II cities. The growth potential of the various regions will be fully harnessed.
