OVERVIEW Maryknoll School is the largest K-12 Catholic, coeduca onal ins tu on in Hawaii. Today, the School stands as a premier Catholic school of over 1,100 students, 150 faculty and staff, and thousands of alumni, with a rich history and enviable commitment and dedica on to serve children through cul va on of knowledge, self- discipline, crea vity, and spiritual and physical growth.
Since its founding in 1927, the School has grown and flourished. The School is housed on two campuses, two blocks apart. The Grade School campus (serving students in K-8) has 600 students and the High School campus (serving students in 9-12) retains 500 students. CAMPUSES AND LOCATION Maryknoll School is located in Honolulu, the capital and largest city in the State of Hawaii. Honolulu is a thriving and diverse city of approximately 395,000+ residents. It is the main gateway to Hawaii and a major portal into the United States. It is a significant hub for interna onal business, military defense, tourism, and is host to a variety of East-West and Pacific cultures, cuisine, tradi ons and experiences.
Honolulu is ranked high on world livability rankings, and has been ranked among the safest ci es in the United States. It boasts a semi-arid and tropical climate and thrives on numerous parks, public trails, year-round sports, museums, and tourist a rac ons.
The Maryknoll campuses are purposefully built, renovated and a en ve to needs of teaching and learning. The campuses are safe, a rac ve, and well maintained. Light- filled buildings are well-designed, well- furnished, and developmentally appropriate instruc onal and mee ng spaces, arts facili es, offices, Grade School Media Center, and Learning Commons are augmented with outdoor playgrounds, safe carpool drop-off and pick-up lanes, and a er-school facili es. The halls and classrooms are welcoming and are beau fully decorated with student wri ng and art as plen ful evidence of the School’s academic programs for parents and visitors. The Clarence T. C. Ching Gymnasium is a standout and plays an important role in the School’s athle c program and also serves the en re community well in the mul tude of year round ac vi es it hosts. It is clear that a number of renova ons and all-School capital improvements have been completed since 2014 that enhance the campuses and support instruc on.

Maryknoll students enjoy close and respec ul rela onships with their teachers and fellow students. They are known, nurtured and described as happy, though ul and engaged learners who are ready to discover what kind of great they want to be. Students and their families hail from parts of the island of Oahu, retain a variety of faith backgrounds, and are gently guided to develop their spirituality as they par cipate in daily morning prayer, monthly Mass, and community outreach.
