Home is “the place where one lives or was brought up” as well as “a refuge, a sanctuary; a place or region to which one naturally belongs or where one feels at ease.”1 I feel myself to have “been brought up” as an art historian within the Department of Art History at the University of Minnesota, and it is a place where I feel at ease, a place where I have felt the comfort of supportive and encouraging words from intelligent, engaged, kind, and warm-hearted people.
