Donald J. Trump President of the of America The White House 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW Washington, DC

Dear Mr. President,

On behalf of the Personal Care Products Council (PCPC), thank you for your leadership in implementing policies to limit the impact of this global pandemic. The industry is committed to addressing COVID-19, and our member companies are working to do their part to help mitigate this global crisis.

As an industry dedicated to safety, our industry takes very seriously the health and well-being of our employees, the families who use our products every day, and the communities worldwide where our companies operate.

Specifically, cosmetics companies are refitting their factories to increase the production and supply of hand sanitizer nationwide to help combat this disease. Over the next several weeks, we expect close to 20 million units of hand sanitizer to be produced by the cosmetics industry. These products will be donated to hospitals, community clinics, medical and emergency professionals, first responders, and industry employees. Products will also be available to retail customers.

Companies producing hand sanitizers include:   Combe  Coty  Johnson & Johnson  L’Oréal  Mary Kay  Americas  Unilever

We anticipate more companies joining the effort. Our Board remains committed to working with you, the White House Coronavirus Task Force and others to continue to play our part to help mitigate the progression of COVID-19.

Thank you for the opportunity to provide this update on the role our companies are playing during this critical time.

Sincerely,

Lezlee Westine President & CEO
