Arts agencies eligible for prizes, bonus pool during online giving campaign

Wichita, Kans. - The first-ever Wichita Art Day of Giving (ArtDOG), a project of the Wichita Community Foundation, will be from midnight to 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 28, 2014. This 24-hour online charitable fundraising campaign was created to unite the community around local nonprofit arts organizations.

Benefits of this giving day include building community awareness of the arts, connecting donors to nonprofits, and encouraging local organizations to use digital tools to generate funds.

The Knight Foundation, a donor and supporter of WCF, has provided the participating organizations with an online giving platform, powered by Razoo. As recent studies have shown, online giving has increased in popularity with year over year increases of around 13%.

There are 39 nonprofit arts organizations in Wichita registered to participate. Golden Ticket opportunities will be available throughout the day, awarding 11 $1,000 prizes to randomly selected participating organizations. In addition, all 39 organizations are eligible for bonus pool dollars, which will be awarded based on dollars raised at the conclusion of the giving day. WCF has committed $25,000 from their operating endowment, along with a $50,000 grant from the Knight Foundation, for bonus pool dollars, prizes and other expenses.

WCF has partnered with the Arts Council to bring exciting, unique events to the city on Feb. 28. For more information about ArtDOG, visit artdayofgiving.razoo.com or wichitacf.org.
