  • Aber Cottage Beddgelert | Gwynedd | LL55
in association with Aber Cottage Beddgelert | Gwynedd | LL55 4YF Aber Cottage Softly surrounded by trees and with the Aberglaslyn River flowing gently through the garden, Aber Cottage is a place of great natural beauty and tranquillity. The cottage began life in the mid eighteenth century, and its character and location have inspired artists to pick up their brushes. A painting of the cottage in eighteen ninety is exhibited in the National Library of Wales. Sadly, the cottage fell into ruin, but was rescued in the nineteen eighties by a local businessman who won an award for the superb restoration. He renovated and extended, retaining the original chimney wall in the kitchen and bedroom. Today it is a charming home where you can enjoy the comforts of the modern age in a unique setting. It was only by chance that the present owners saw a photograph and sale details of the property in a magazine, and immediately fell in love with it. They have loved and enjoyed Aber Cottage for over twenty years and say it is where the cares of the world are washed away and energy revived. There are enchanting views to the river from every room, and it provides a picturesque backdrop to meals in the conservatory or on the patio. The surroundings tempt summer al fresco dining, but the kitchen diner can easily seat eight people and is equipped for the keen cook. The cottage has a calm and pleasing atmosphere. It encourages you to settle in the lounge to read and relax, and the multi fuel stove creates a warming glow on a chilly winters’ day.

These haven’t been ratified nor have they been BAF corrected as I am waiting for the national spreadsheet to be updated. The monitoring data for 2015 is on the Welsh Air Quality website but I’m not sure whether it’s been ratified yet. In terms of methodology, your proposal to use the new guidance documents would seem wise.

Welsh Government Report to the National Assembly for Wales on Marine Protected Areas in Wales February 2014 © Crown Copyright 2014 Digital ISBN 978 1 4734 0974 3 WG20649 CONTENTS Introduction 2 Background 4 National, European and International commitments 5 Current Marine Protected Areas in Wales 7 Assessment of existing Marine Protected Areas 13 MPA management 16 Annex 17 INTRODUCTION 1. This document provides the Welsh Government’s Report to the National Assembly for Wales on the Marine Protected Areas network, in response to recommendation 10 of the Environment and Sustainability Committee’s Marine Inquiry. Recommendation 10: By the 31 December 2013, the Welsh Government should voluntarily lay before the Assembly a report that meets the requirement of section 124 of the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009. This report should include an appraisal of the environmental status, governance and enforcement of existing marine protected areas. 2. Section 124 of the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009 (the Marine Act) requires the Welsh Ministers to lay a report before the National Assembly for Wales on the extent to which it has achieved the objectives in the Marine Act to use conservation sites to contribute to a UK network of marine protected areas. The report must cover further steps needed to meet the network objectives, as well as specific details on any Marine Conservation Zones that have been designated. 3. The network objectives as detailed in section 123 of the Marine Act are that European marine sites (Special Areas of Conservation, Special Protection Areas), Sites of Special Scientific Interest and Ramsar sites form a network which contributes to the conservation or improvement of the marine environment in the UK marine area; where the features which are protected by the sites comprised in the network represent the range of features present in the UK marine area; and recognises the conservation of a feature may require the designation of more than one site.

  • Ceredigion Welsh District Council Elections Results 1973-1991
Ceredigion Welsh District Council Elections Results 1973-1991 Colin Rallings and Michael Thrasher The Elections Centre Plymouth University The information contained in this report has been obtained from a number of sources. Election results from the immediate post-reorganisation period were painstakingly collected by Alan Willis largely, although not exclusively, from local newspaper reports. From the mid- 1980s onwards the results have been obtained from each local authority by the Elections Centre. The data are stored in a database designed by Lawrence Ware and maintained by Brian Cheal and others at Plymouth University. Despite our best efforts some information remains elusive whilst we accept that some errors are likely to remain. Notice of any mistakes should be sent to [email protected]. The results sequence can be kept up to date by purchasing copies of the annual Local Elections Handbook, details of which can be obtained by contacting the email address above. Front cover: the graph shows the distribution of percentage vote shares over the period covered by the results. The lines reflect the colours traditionally used by the three main parties. The grey line is the share obtained by Independent candidates while the purple line groups together the vote shares for all other parties. Rear cover: the top graph shows the percentage share of council seats for the main parties as well as those won by Independents and other parties. The lines take account of any by- election changes (but not those resulting from elected councillors switching party allegiance) as well as the transfers of seats during the main round of local election.

FRIDAY, JUNE 23, 2017 SCAT DADDY STARRING AT ROYAL ASCOT HORSES SAVING VETS, by Bill Oppenheim VETS SAVING HORSES After the first race at Royal Ascot Thursday, the five-furlong G2 Norfolk S. for 2-year-olds, Coolmore Ashford=s late great Scat Daddy had already chalked up three winners in the first 13 races--one a day, so far. Two were for 3-year-old fillies for trainer Wesley Ward: Lady Aurelia, whose second 5-furlong Royal Ascot win came in the G1 King=s Stand on Tuesday; followed by Wednesday=s last-race winner Con Te Partiro in the Listed Sandringham H. at a mile. In Thursday=s opener, Sioux Nation, trained by a certain Aidan O=Brien, became Scat Daddy=s fourth Royal Ascot 5-furlong 2-year-old Group winner, his fifth 2-year-old Group winner total, and marked the seventh win for Scat Daddy at Royal Ascot in five years. Five have been trained by Wesley Ward, two by O=Brien. In 2013, No Nay Never, from Scat Daddy=s third crop, won the Norfolk. Two years later, Acapulco won the G2 Queen Mary S. Last year Scat Daddy scored a 2-year-old double as Caravaggio won the G2 Coventry S. at six furlongs and Lady Aurelia became Scat Daddy=s second Sgt. Matt Ryba with retired Thoroughbred Crafty Star successive Queen Mary winner. • The Grouped Parishes of Llay, Rossett and Isycoed Parish Profile October
The Grouped Parishes of Llay, Rossett and Isycoed Parish Profile October 2015 A Profile of the Diocese of St Asaph The Diocese of St Asaph is a diverse and hopeful community of faith. With roots in the Celtic church and a wealth of character and tradition, we seek to continue to uncover our shared vocation as God’s people in the Church in Wales in the north east of the Province. We are a Diocese in good heart and seek to persist in responding joyfully to God’s challenge. The Diocese follows the English/Welsh border in the east, whilst the western edge is delineated by the Conwy Valley. The northern boundary runs along the North Wales coast as far as Llandudno, but only takes in part of that town. The southern boundary runs from the lower end of Llyn Tegid (Lake Bala) across to Dolfor, just south of Newtown in Powys. Ecclesiastically it is bordered by the Dioceses of Chester, Lichfield and Hereford on the northern and eastern sides. To the south we border Swansea and Brecon Diocese and to the west, Bangor. The Diocese is predominantly rural, with many parishes having populations of less than 1000. However, there are important and continually developing industrial and commercial areas around Deeside (one of the largest industrial parks in Europe) and Wrexham and significant smaller developments along the two main arterial roads (A55 and A483). The coastal strip is home to traditional holiday resorts and tourism is an important industry in many parts of the Diocese. The largest employers are the local authorities through education and the health services with two large general district hospitals at Bodelwyddan and Wrexham.
