Open to all college students who have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 in at least 12 units of previous college level course work at an accredited college.

Students who attend nonmember colleges and universities are welcome to participate if they meet eligibility requirements and provide official, sealed transcripts to .

FINANCIAL AID:

ALL STUDENTS INTERESTED IN FINANCIAL AID FOR SPRING IN SPAIN SHOULD FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW NOW:

1) Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for 2015-2016 online www.fafsa.ed.gov , and add the Citrus College Code 001166.

2) Complete the Request for Financial Assistance for SPAIN and Information Release form located in your SPAIN brochure packet. SCAN AND EMAIL THESE TWO FORMS NOW to [email protected]

3) Complete a Citrus College application for admission online www.citruscollege.edu - Click on WingSpan; Apply for Admission. You will be issued a Citrus student I.D and student email. Financial aid will send important information to your Citrus WingSpan financial aid link and Citrus College student email.

4) AWARD LETTERS WILL BE SENT TO YOUR CITRUS COLLEGE WINGSPAN FINANCIAL AID LINK AFTER ALL REQUESTED DOCUMENTS ARE RECEIVED AND VERIFIED. CHECK WINGSPAN AND CITRUS STUDENT EMAIL OFTEN.

If you are a Cal Grant recipient, it is your responsibility to submit a ‘Grant Record Change Form for Students’ (G-10 form) to CSAC ( Student Aid Commission) indicating the semester you will be changing to Citrus College. You must also submit the school change back to your home school for the following semester. Students who fail to notify CSAC may lose their Cal Grant eligibility.

STUDY ABROAD SCHOLARSHIPS:

AIFS AMBASSADOR SCHOLARSHIP – Call or email your Study Abroad Coordinator or John Morris for an AIFS scholarship application. Coordinator information is listed on last page of this document.

APPLYING FOR ELIGIBILITY TO STUDY IN SPAIN SPRING 2016

1. Attend a Study Abroad Information Meeting on your campus; OR speak with your Study Abroad Program Coordinator if you are unable to attend. 2. Complete the AIFS Online Enrollment Form: https://secure.aifsabroad.com/Partnership/application/welcome.aspx?cpi=QGNYHA16VAO8 3. To complete your online AIFS online enrollment form you will select your housing preference; choose your international flight, tours, and other program options and make the first payment of $450. Completion of the application and the $450 payment reserves your space in the program but enrollment will be contingent upon the academic approval of your Study Abroad Program Coordinator. 4. Submit unofficial transcripts (electronically or physically) to your home campus Study Abroad Program Coordinator by November 20 (please submit transcripts as early as possible) to gain academic approval. Students who have made the initial $450 payment and have gained academic approval from the Study Abroad Program Coordinator will have successfully completed their enrollment. Students deemed academically ineligible will receive a full refund of their application fee.

PAYMENT POLICY:

ALL students must make a first program payment of $450 when they complete the Online Enrollment Form. Students who are NOT receiving financial aid will make the final payment on December 23.

Students receiving financial aid are responsible for paying some of the balance by December 23. The remaining balance for financial aid students will need to be paid to AIFS according to the student’s financial aid disbursement dates.

PAYMENTS DUE FROM FINANCIAL AID STUDENTS ON DECEMBER 23 include the airfare and airline-imposed departure taxes, fees and fuel surcharges (if you plan to travel on the AIFS arranged group flight with airport pick-up and return); the $250 refundable damage deposit; and $600 of the balance. Financial aid students are also responsible for paying any single room surcharges (if they choose to live in a single room in an apartment or homestay); $50 tour deposit (if they choose the optional tour to Morocco), and any portion of the balance that will not be covered by their financial aid award.

If you are a financial aid student and your financial aid file is not complete or loans are not guaranteed, you will be required to pay AIFS any portion of the balance not covered.

FINANCIAL AID CHECKS - Checks will be mailed to the address listed on the Citrus College Application for Admission. If your address changes, it is your responsibility to complete a student update form. Complete a change of address form through the Citrus College web site www.citruscollege.edu, Admissions and Records, Student Forms, Student Update.

REGISTRATION FOR CLASSES

Spring in Spain registration instructions will be emailed to all students who have submitted their unofficial transcripts and paid the first $450 program payment. Be sure the email address you list on your application is one you check regularly. You must also complete a Citrus College Application for Admission in order to register for spring 2016 classes. SPAIN ORIENTATION

SATURDAY SPAIN STUDENT ORIENTATION will be held at Citrus College JANUARY 23 in the Center for Innovation, Rm. 159 (CI 159), for all students participating in the 9:30 – 12:00 Spain program. Spain instructors and student services representatives will attend. Family members are welcome.

Southern California Foothills Consortium Salamanca Program Spring Semester 2016

The AIFS program fee of $6,795 includes the following:

⇒ overnight stay in Madrid on arrival including accommodation in a three-star hotel (double/triple occupancy) with breakfast; ⇒ group transfer by private bus from Madrid to Salamanca; ⇒ accommodation in Salamanca in student apartments (included) or homestays (for a supplemental fee). Two students will share a double room. Apartments are fully furnished and include cooking facilities, free wireless Internet access, washing machine and television; homestay students receive breakfast daily and lunch (the main meal in Spain) and dinner Monday- Friday, plus weekly laundry service; ⇒ orientation program in Salamanca consisting of a meeting with AIFS staff, half-day guided walking tour of Salamanca and welcome dinner; ⇒ Spanish Culture and Civilization Course (art, history, literature, culture) to include two full-day guided excursions, one to Madrid and one to Segovia with Ávila, and a weekly social and cultural program (this typically includes trips to museums and historical/cultural sites, dance classes, cooking classes, a tapas tour, and music performances); ⇒ on-site AIFS Student Services Office and support of AIFS Student Services Staff for information, personal advising/counseling and 24-hour emergency contact service; ⇒ use of the computer lab at the Study Center with free Internet access; ⇒ farewell dinner in Salamanca; ⇒ group transfer at end of program from Salamanca to Madrid Airport; ⇒ medical insurance and program fee refund insurance policies; ⇒ $50 non-refundable application fee.

All students must submit the $450 deposit (plus $50 for the tour, if selected) when completing the online enrollment form. Subsequent payments may be made by check or credit card. Checks should be made payable to “AIFS.” American Express, MasterCard and Visa are also accepted.

Financial Aid students are responsible for paying, by December 23, 2015, the airfare ($695), taxes/fees/fuel ($648–subject to change), $250 refundable damage deposit, a $600 program reservation deposit (toward your balance due), tour deposit if applicable, and any remaining balance that will not be covered by aid.

Please note: A $35 returned check fee will be charged on all checks returned by the bank for insufficient funds.

AIFS TRANSPORTATION PACKAGE

Participants have the option of purchasing a round-trip ticket for the flight arranged through AIFS. Participants choosing this option should note the following restrictions: Tickets purchased from AIFS are exclusively on scheduled airlines (not charters). They are not endorsable to another carrier. Flights are not necessarily direct or non-stop, and frequent flyer miles are not applicable. The AIFS Transportation Package includes ground transportation from the airport in Madrid to the Madrid hotel on the regularly scheduled program arrival date. AIFS will book flights on the dates indicated on this application only.

Participants wishing to purchase the Transportation Package must notify AIFS in writing by Friday, November 20, 2015, or by selecting it on the online enrollment form. Participants wishing to cancel from the flight must notify AIFS in writing by Wednesday, December 23, 2015. Cancellation penalties will apply. Tickets are non-refundable after this date. Participants who plan to purchase their own airline ticket will be responsible for providing their own round-trip transportation between the airport in Madrid and the Madrid hotel on arrival and between Salamanca and Madrid Airport on the return (unless returning to Madrid on the group transfer day).

AIFS Airfare Regulations: Return must be to original U.S. departure point. Tickets are subject to airline availability. No refunds are available for any unused portion of ticket. Tickets cannot be rerouted, and stopovers are not permitted. Once in Spain participants may be able to change their return date, but only if that date is available and in the same class of service in which the ticket was booked. Only the ticketing agent can provide this information. Participants are subject to agency and airline-imposed change fees and space availability. Group round-trip ground transportation to and from the airport in Madrid is on the regularly scheduled program dates only.

AIFS cannot guarantee that all passengers will be booked on the same flight.
