Stover CV February 2018 7 C. Current Projects Community Health Workers: Advocate! Navigate! Educate! – Data Collection This project (connected to the Service Year Challenge) includes the education of four ethnically, culturally, and linguistically diverse freshman nursing students. The focus is on the 10 core competencies of Community Health Workers. In addition to classroom education, the four students will provide almost 1000 hours of service in the community. Data collection is ongoing until August 2017 and analysis will occur during fall 2017. Stover, C.M.

Massachusetts Community Health Worker Core Curriculum and Disease Specific Curriculum Development As the culminating step of our CBPR project, we are collaborating with community health workers currently employed in the Southcoast region to develop the 48 hour training curriculum for community health workers. The curriculum will be based on national best education and clinical practices. The established curriculum will meet state legislative standards for community health worker certification and will provide a foundation for a new training entity in the Southcoast region. PUBLIC SERVICE

A. 2016 (June)-present Pet Partners Registered Therapy Animal Program Handler, Bellevue WA Member of the Tufts Paws for People Community Chapter, Grafton, MA Therapy animals provide affection and comfort to various members of the public, typically in facility settings such as hospitals, retirement homes, and schools. These pets have a special aptitude for interacting with members of the public and enjoy doing so. Therapy animal owners volunteer their time to visit with their animal in the community. Steps to achieve registered status: Weekly obedience training one-on-one with trainer, at home training, successful completion of Canine Good Citizen test, 20 hour Pet Partners handler course, successful completion of Therapy Animal Program Initial Evaluation (11-4-17). Guinness (1.5 year old Bernese Mountain Dog) and I will be working with the Department of Mental Health in Worcester to provide therapy visits twice a month to adolescents and adults admitted to facilities.
