It will be built to fit the requirements of the joint master support programme of Erasmus Plus. ICSS COMMUNICATION A website and its diverse functions Events leaning on festivals dedicated to cinema with a strong worldwide dimension Involvement of the various partners in very active international networks both at the educational level and in the cinema industry and heritage area. It represents the interests of institutions that are concerned with training for the music profession. • SEADOM works for the advancement of Southeast Asian music education with a particular focus on professional training for musicians as they engage with music, the arts and culture in contemporary society and for future generations. • SEADOM provides support, information, network opportunities and expert advice to the specialist institutions offering advanced music education, through engaging in advocacy and partnership-building at Southeast Asian and international levels. SEADOM Aims • To facilitate cooperation at regional level and represent the interests of the professional music training sector in Southeast Asia • Celebrate the richness and diversity of music in the region • Promote the role and importance of professional music training in Southeast Asian societies • Provide a platform for sharing of expertise, developments and best practices at institutional, national and regional levels • Encourage exchange and collaborations between institutions and nations • Organize an annual conference for its members, encompassing areas of research, music education, composition, ensemble playing, Southeast Asian traditions and performance Past SEADOM Congresses • 2008 – College of Music, Mahidol University (Thailand) • 2009 – Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (Singapore) • 2011 – College of Music, Mahidol University (Thailand) • 2012 – Faculty of Music, Universiti Teknologi MARA (Malaysia) • 2013 – Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music (Vietnam) • 2014 – College of Music, Mahidol University (Thailand) • Upcoming in 2015 – March 27-29 @ College of Music, University of the Philippines (Manila, Philippines) Categories of Membership • Active membership - Designated representatives [one per institution] from music schools (conservatoires, colleges, academies or university departments/faculties, etc.) in ASEAN countries in, and other equivalent institutions in Southeast Asia, in which full time opportunities exist for students to engage in education and training for the music profession. • Associate membership - Representatives from institutions, organizations and individuals who have a keen interest in the evolution of an international network for representing the education and training of music professionals in the Southeast Asian region. • First SEADOM Member Year begins Oct. 1, 2014 and runs through September 30,2015. The orchestra has been performing various concerts including the outdoor Beethoven’s 9th Symphony performance (Flash Mob) at Shinjuku Station East Gate Moa 4th street (Tokyo) in 11 August, 2013. The Road to World Peace Concert will have a finale concert in Sarajevo on Saturday, July 5th in 2014. A singing voice started in front of Shinjuku Station will be concluded. The Balkan Chamber Orchestra was established by Japanese conductor Toshio Yanagisawa in 2007 in the hope of enhancing inter- ethic co-prosperity in the Balkan. Tonight, the orchestra will collaborate with a blind pianist Takeshi Kakehashi, a second prize winner of the Long-Thibaud-Crespin Competition, Sarajevo Philharmonic, National Theater Sarajevo Opera Solist and Choir and welcoming Japanese music lovers for choir including one of the most famous Japanese actress Yoko Akino as a choir member. It is our pleasure to have this concert with all of the artists and hoping for world peace.

    INSTRUMENTAL VALUE : THE TRANSFORMATIVE POWER OF MUSIC SALZBURG GLOBAL SEMINAR SESSION 479 REPORT PREFACE In April of 2011, the Salzburg Global Seminar convened a conference titled “ Instrumental Value: The Transformative Power of Music .” As an organization committed to addressing issues of global concern and to promoting dialogue among cultures for more than sixty years, the Salzburg Global Seminar took the view that this was an important moment to consider the transformational power of music within and between societies worldwide. To that end, and with the generous support of The Edward T. Cone Foundation, the Seminar brought together 54 leaders from the world of music, including presenters, performers, composers, researchers, policy makers, scientists, and scholars from 23 countries to engage in dialogue. Sarah Lutman, president and managing director of The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, and Nicholas Kenyon, managing director of the Barbican Centre, served as program co-chairs and moderators. The seminar was structured around five subjects: the power of performance, the mind, the spirit, learning, and creation. Each topic was the subject of a plenary session followed by vigorous discussion. Additionally, the power of performance, the mind, and learning were explored further in small, facilitator-led working groups, which met throughout the four-day session and presented their findings at the session’s close. The plenary sessions and working groups were enhanced by various informal sessions, evening concerts, conversations, presentations, and receptions. This report summarizes the content and discussions of the five plenary sessions and working group reports, as well as the other seminar events, so that the work and thinking which took place in Salzburg can be shared with a wider global music audience.

    1 Prof. dr. Senad Kazić 1. Curriculum vitae Senad Kazić was born in 1965 in Zenica; he completed his primary and secondary education in Zenica, and graduate from the Academy of Music in Sarajevo, Department of Music Theory and Pedagogy, in 1988. He completed the postgraduate studies at Academy of Music in Sarajevo in 2001, having defended his master's thesis in the area of ear training (Treatment and interpolation of creative forms in solfeggio, mentored by dr. Vinko Krajtmajer), which was the first master's thesis in this area in BiH. At the same academy and with the same mentor, he defended his doctoral dissertation (Musical improvisation in education process) in 2007 and was thus granted the Ph.D. degree. In 2002 and 2003, he went for short study visits to the Royal College of Music, Stockholm. In 2012, he completed a training program and acquired the Certificate: Quality assurance and management in higher-education institutions by School of Economics and Business in Sarajevo. 2. Teaching activity / employment In 1985, he began to work part time at the Primary School of Music in Zenica, and in 1988 he got a full-time job at the Secondary School of Music in Zenica. From 2001, he worked part time at the Secondary School of Music in Novi Travnik. Since the 2000/2001 academic year he has been working at the Academy of Music in Sarajevo, as a teacher in the Solfeggio course. In 2002, Senad Kazic was appointed a full-time senior teaching assistant in the course Solfeggio at Academy of Music in Sarajevo.
