ITV2 is now frequently winning audiences of over 1 million, showing spin-offs from ITV1, second airings of popular shows and Champions League football. ‘Brand extensions’ from ITV1 have been particularly successful such as Extra which attracted up to 2.3m viewers making it the third most watched channel at the time.
