Camp Kindle/Kids Cancer Care $1 MILLIONW COMMITMENTellness I would like to sincerely thank you for providing the Camp Kindle experience to children who have parents with cancer. My daughter Lily attended camp in August and from the moment she got into the car at pick-up she didn’t stop raving about her experience. The activities, friends, staff and food were all spoken about so positively. It has been a difficult year for our family, and it was so wonderful that Lily could get away “and have some well-deserved fun. Lily chose to keep my cancer private. Although a few of her friends learned about it through their parents, Lily didn’t like talking about it. I believe seeing her fellow campers who have had similar experiences reassured her that she wasn’t abnormal. I worried when she began to share that a few of her friends at camp had lost their parents to cancer. I asked her how this made her feel, as I worried this would create fear. I was thrilled with her response of “Grateful.” For my child who doesn’t like to talk about her emotions, this was huge. Going to Camp Kindle was the single most empowering thing Please pass on my gratitude to the whole team who is Aunika has done in her healing responsible for providing such a wonderful experience at the process. I truly cannot thank this Camp Kindle. Lily’s first comment when she got in the car at organization enough. pick-up was, “Can I go back next year?
