We recommend you follow our directions for the last few miles from Sturminster Newton, because inputting our postcode into Sat Nav will direct you a different way down a long narrow potholed lane and through a ford which is frequently impassable, even in summer.
Use the postcode DT10 2DJ for Sat Nav which will take you to Glue Hill, the turning off the A357 towards Fifehead Neville, then follow our directions from point 6 below.
From Blandford Forum 1. Take the A350 towards Warminster 2. After a few miles at a set of traffic lights turn left on to the A357 towards Sturminster Newton and Sherborne 3. At the traffic lights on the outskirts of Sturminster Newton, continue straight on in the left hand lane. Do not turn right over the bridge into Sturminster Newton town centre 4. Go past Sturminster Newton Mill entrance on your right 5. Approx. 500 m take the first left turn into Glue Hill, signposted Fifehead Neville and Hazelbury Bryan 6. Keep on this road and after half a mile at Rivers Corner, the road bears left then right 7. Do not take the turning on your left which is marked Fifehead St.Quintin, (GPS and Sat Nav may direct you to take this turning, but it is not recommended as it will take you along a narrow potholed lane and then via a ford which frequently floods to a dangerous level – it is not easy to turn back once you reach the ford) 8. Keep on the same road, passing the entrance of Coolplay (0.6 miles from A357) and Plumber Manor (1.1 miles from A357), which are both on your left. 9. 2 miles from the A357, you will see a Road Narrows sign and just after the narrow section, turn left into a lane signposted to Fifehead Neville. This lane is shown as Green Lane on Sat Nav. but there is no actual sign, 10. Continue on this lane for about half a mile and you will find the entrance to Belview on your left just shortly after Fifehead Neville village sign 11. Belview Cottage is on the left when you turn into the entrance
From Wincanton/Sherborne on the A357 1. On entering Sturminster Newton go past North Dorset Business Park on the left and 30 mph signs 2. Take the next right turn, into Glue Hill, sign posted Fifehead Neville and Hazelbury Bryan. Continue as per paragraph 6 of directions from Blandford Forum above.
From London 1. Take the M3 towards Basingstoke and Andover 2. Near Andover, take the A303 towards Exeter. 3. Just after Chicklade, turn right off the A303, signposted A350 Shaftesbury and Blandford. 4. At the next T-junction, turn left under the A303 towards Shaftesbury on the A350. 5. At Ivy Cross roundabout on the outskirts of Shaftesbury, take the A30 towards Sherborne and Yeovil. 6. At East Stour, turn left onto the B3092 towards Sturminster Newton. 7. Go through Sturminster Newton – straight on at the first set of traffic lights 8. At the second traffic lights, go over the bridge and turn right on to the A357 towards Lydlinch and Stalbridge.
