IN MEMORIAM Earlier this year, we lost the talents of a wonderful and versatile actress, Cynthia Harline, who performed the memorable role of Lena Lamont in "Singin' In The Rain" and came back to appear as Panacea in our production of "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum". We will miss Cynthia's delightful personality and smile. We extend our deepest sympathy to her husband and family.

13 WHO'S WHO ON OUR STAFF

Elizabeth Dale (Producer)-WVLO's Vice President of the Board of Directors for the past 18 years brings you another great Broadway musical. Elizabeth introduced our subscribers to "Big River" last season featuring 's delightful score and the adventures of Huckleberry Finn!! She has been involved with so many productions either as Producer, SM, ASM, Stage and Lighting Crew and all-round assistant. Elizabeth credits her husband of 50 years, Les, and daughter, Julie, for involving her originally in community theater. But she keeps them busy helping her!

Doug Baird (Director)-A three-time ERMA Award-win- ning performer, Doug joins our staff for the first time as Direc- tor. He has appeared in eight WVLO productions since 1977 and in the 80's was the recipient of our ERMA Awards for Best Actor as Madam Lucy in "Irene" and Horace Vandergelder in "Hello, Dolly!" as well as Best Supporting Actor as Luther Bil- lis in "South Pacific". His most recent portrayal with WVLO was in the role of Michael in "I Do! I Do!" in 1994. Doug saw the original production of "Marne" on Broadway in 1967, fell in love with the show, the music and the characters and the highlight of his career was meeting Jerry Herman. Doug's most recent stage appearance was last year with BBB as Colonel Pickering in "My Fair Lady" and it just so happened that his first stage appearance in 1964 was as a dancer in "My Fair Lady" with Marni Nixon and Edward Mulhare. Other credits include performances with AMTSJ, SDG, FMT and CMTSJ. Doug earned his BA in Music from Fresno State and is currently a kindergarten teacher looking forward to retirement.

Joseph T. Kelly (Music Director)-We welcome Joseph for his musical directing debut with WVLO. Since his first experience with musical theater was playing trumpet for IHS' production of "Marne" ,Joseph couldn't pass up the opportunity to lead the music of his very first show!! He is no stranger to our pit since he has played French Horn for four of our productions; "Crazy For You,c ""J osep.h ..D reamcoat ""01·", rver and "FIower Drum Song". He most recently played the French Horn for SDG's "La Cage Aux FolIes". Other directorial credits include musicals for SCPoSDG, PACT, SCVT and Fremont HS. Joseph earned his BA in Music Performance from SJSU and is currently the Director ofInstrumental Music at Fremont HS. His students in his advanced band received Superior ratings at their April Festival and he is very proud of them. Check out his band's website at www. firebirdmarchingband.com.

14 Diane Milo (VocalDirector)-Diane returns for her second production with WVLO as Vocal Director, the other was the ERMA Award-winning musical, "Forever Plaid". She has also appeared on our stage in three other shows; last season's"Smokey Joe's Cafe" as Ruby, "They're Playing Our Song" as Sonia and "1940's Radio Hour" asAnn. She has performed and/or directed for theatre companies allover the Bay Area in more than 40 productions which includes "The Taffetas" and "Taffetas' Christmas" for Tabard Theatre. You can check out her profile on Artsopolis.com to see the full list. Earlier this year, she performed in FMT's "Urinetown: the Musical"and will appear in City Lights' "Jesus Christ Superstar" this summer. Next season she will be providing the vocal direction for PAP's "Beehive" and WVLO's ''Aida'' and is looking forward to directing "Won- derful Town" next summer.

Dean Scott (Choreographer)-This will be Dean's third production in this staff position with WVLO; his first for "Damn Yankees" and the other as both director and choreographer for ''A Chorus Line". Regular season subscribers will remember Dean for his memorable portrayal of George M. Cohan (one of his favorite roles)-in "George M!" Dean's most recent performance was with AMTSJ's production of ''A Chorus Line" as Alan DeLuca (and understudy to the role of Zach). He has choreographed hundreds of shows which include productions with SDG, SCp, CMTSJ and PYT. Dean performed his favorite roles of Mike in ''A Chorus Line" on an international tour and Mr. Mistoffelees in the LA company of "". He is a doctor of chiropractic at HealthNow Medical Center in Sunnyvale.

Les Dale (Production Designer/Technical Director)-Since 1986 when Les designed his first set for "Dames At Sea", he has created his 22nd design for WVLO, the most recent was for ''A Chorus Line" in 2004. Two of his favorites were for "Fiddler On The Roof" and "Man Of La Mancha". He has been performing since 1979 when he played Pops, Rose's Father in SCP's pro- duction of "Gypsy" and has been seen in over 20 productions, the most recent was in the role of The Duke in "Big River" last season. A retired native Californian, he loves cooking, painting, gardening and performing. He has been nominated for many of his memorable roles and has several ERMA Awards to show for those portrayals. Les has also been seen in leading and supporting roles for CAST, SCP, SCPL, SJCLO (now AMTSJ) , STOC, CPLGS, and MPG.

His impressive list of credits include many productions with SDG, SCPL, SCp, CCMT as well asWoodminster Ampitheater and Teatro Vision. He earned his BA degree in Fine Arts at SJSU and enjoys performing whenever the right role comes along.

Phillip T. Genera (Stage Manager)-Another first-timer, Phillip was promoted to this position after serving as a stagehand in our last production of "Once Upon A Mattress". He earned his BS in Computer Science & Psychology from RPI in , NY and is currently a Software Engineer for Cisco Systems.

Bob Nelson (Sound Designer)-Bob joins us for his 15th production in this capacity, his third this season, having already designed the sound for "Oliver" and "Once Upon A Mattress". She had also served as Costumer for "Big River", "Sweet Charity", ''Annie'' and "Damn Yankees",just to name a few. Her most recent challenge was costuming ATC's "The Rocky Horror Picture Show".
