Plans to demolish the old Council Chambers making way for a new Civic building. Staff will relocate to temporary accommodation for two years while the works are taking place. Service Tasmania has volunteered to manage Customer Service for Devonport Council from the new Civic building which is to be discussed. Dorset Council Leeanne Wheeler / Shelley Mountney • Waiting on quote for proposed renovations to the building • Two flat screen televisions have been installed in the reception area and are being used to promote the municipality • Have recently gone live with Shortel phone system • New Mayor and Deputy Mayor have been elected • A quadriplegic has commenced work with Dorset Council through the Rural Primary Health Program West Tamar Council Sue-Ellen Ellis • Annual rates notices have been sent • Dog Registations – Infringements are being issued to outstanding registrations • Animal Control officer was recently assaulted 3 NATIONAL LOCAL GOVERNMENT CUSTOMER SERVICE NETWORK INC TASMANIAN CHAPTER MEETING WEDNESDAY 19 AUGUST 2015 • Denise Fela has announced her resignation Open form Cont’d Meander Valley Council David Pyke • Customer Service Standards document is currently being updated • BIA Worksheets are at the second stage • Flat Screen television has been installed at reception Launceston City Council Jacquie Leonard • Currently trialing Sit-Stand desks – to eventually replace all work stations • Shor Tel phone system goes live on 11 th September 2015 • The Launceston City Heart Project is ongoing with the aim to beautify the city, including major changes to upgrade the city. • Launceston City Council were number 1 out of 48 Council’s in the Secret Shopper for the April May June quarter • Hall hire booking administration fees have been included to the CSR to recover administration costs • The organisation are aiming to send letters electronically rather than postage and receipts are now convertered to a PDF so they can be emailed Kingborough Council Robbie Shafe • Kingborough Council took out first prize in the LGMA Challenge • Customer Service renovations have been completed and the Customer Service team have moved into the new area.
