The talented art of painter Ruth Morrow is featured for the month of June at the Hovey Winery Tasting Room in Murphys, where a reception welcomes her to the space from 5:45 to 7:15 p.m. Saturday. Morrow has painted in watercolors, acrylics and oils and worked with mixed media pieces for several decades, weaving a loose and fanciful painting style with images that range from floral arrangements to antique cars and more. Her collages have been highly lauded, as well. She has spent more than 20 years paint- ing and photographing the beauties of the Mother Lode. 2012 and 2013 have been busy and gratifying years in her artistic endeavors. At the Sacramento Fine Arts Gallery Morrow was presented with an award of excel- lence for “A Close-knit Village” and the Olive Schmid Memorial Award for “Spring at the Old Homestead.” For the latter artwork she received multiple first awards at the 2012 and 2013 Calaveras County Professional Art Show and a second place at the Mother Lode Art Show. In March she received a plaque from the Windsor-
