Trefoil campsite only costs £20 for an evening, and it’s a great venue for all your summer outdoor activities. The cost includes use of toilets and a site hut for shelter. Enquiries and bookings can be made through the Girlguiding Edinburgh website. Of course a highlight of an evening or camp at Trefoil would be an archery session! Available for brownies and older (sorry we don’t have equipment suitable for rainbows), with one hour sessions for groups of up to 12 costing only £20. Contact the archery adviser (details below) to discuss options and availability, or submit a booking request through the website. Each unit which participates in a session at Trefoil will also have their scores submitted for the County Archery Trophy which is currently held by 162 nd City of Edinburgh Guides. Can your unit get the gold? ARCHERY FOR BIGGER CAMPS - new for 2014! If you have a camp with more than 24 girls, it can be difficult to fit archery into your programme. We have a new option available where we will take 12 girls for a brief taster of archery for half an hour, with each girl getting to shoot at least 6 arrows. This means that in a typical 2-hour activity slot at camp we can take up to 48 girls. For those who came to last summer’s activity evenings, it is the same arrangement we used there (except you arrange the other activities yourself!) Because this setup takes twice as many instructors as usual, the charge is £20 for each intensive half hour session (the same as for a normal 1-hour session), but this is still excellent value at less than £2 per head. If you might be interested in this option please contact Sandra in the first instance, as it is very dependent on instructor availability. Enquire early to avoid disappointment!
