CHANGES IN TIMES FOR CHRISTMAS SERVICES- Please make a note of time changes for our Christmas Liturgical Services as follows:

SPIRITUAL PREPARATION FOR CHRISTMAS: MYSTERY OF RECONCILIATION & EMMANUEL MOLEBEN: DECEMBER 14 To provide our parishioners the opportunity to more deeply prepare spiritually for Christmas, the Birth of Our Lord, we will have the Mystery of Reconciliation (Confession) available on Wednesday, December 14 from 5 PM to 7 PM with several priests available to hear Confes- sions. At 7 PM we will celebrate the Emmanuel Moleben and following that Service Confessions will once again be heard. Sadly, many people deprive themselves of the healing presence of Christ in their lives, which they receive when they go to Confession. So ofen Confession is talked about in jokes and ridiculed. However, Confession is important in the spiritual growth of Christians. So take this opportunity provided for you seriously and prepare for the newborn Christ in this special way.

Special Intentions: Erwin Armada, Barbara Dugan, Joanie Mahar, Helen Furka, Vincent Rice, McCarthy Family, Gemma Hillman, Marti Lopez, Kathleen Linkowsky, Betty Geletey, Richard Gable, Robert King, Jon Hrovat, Margaret Kunak, Ann Ryan, Chris Faix, Robyn Foy, and Elaine Browne.

By now we are coming close to "the holidays" - the current politically correct term for the Christmas celebration. Te Visitation of Our Lady to Elizabeth is not part of the Fili- povka cycle, but it is important for us as we prepare to welcome the Savior. Our Lady goes to what is now called Ein Karem, which is traditionally seen as the hometown of St. John the Baptist. When Mary greets her elderly cousin, who has been granted a child by God in her old age who will prepare the people for Jesus' coming by his preaching, Elizabeth proclaims that the baby in her womb has leapt for joy. In icons, this moment is shown with St. John inclining his head toward Christ in the womb. Tus, when Elizabeth is six months pregnant and Mary is just a few days into her miraculous pregnancy: on some Eastern calendars, the Visitation is on March 30, just fve days later. Te babies communicate to one another, and establish their unique relationship: John flled with joy, Jesus "speaking" to His cousin of their mission.

What is my response when I hear that Christ is coming to me? He comes in so many ways: His Word, in the Mystery of the Eucharist, in other people. His mere presence in His Mother's womb electrifes the unborn John! How much more should we, as born individuals with faculties of hearing and reason among other things, be electrifed by Jesus' Presence in our lives. Tis week, let us take a moment to refect on this awesome mystery: Jesus Christ is coming to me. He wants to be with me, He desires to come into me, He hungers to be with me. Do I desire Him? Do I re- ally want Him? When I come to church, am I starving to be fed with His Sacred Body and Life- giving Blood?
