ITINERARY:

Day 1/Nov 10(Tue) Thunder Bay - Toronto - Vancouver Depart from Thunder Bay to Vancouver via WestJet Airlines. Upon your arrival at the airport please contact the hotel for shuttle transfer to hotel.

Day 2/Nov 11(Wed) Vancouver - Guangzhou Shuttle transfer to airport and your journey begins with your China Southern transpacific flight CZ330 to Guangzhou at 1130. Adjust your watch accordingly as you cross the International Dateline.

Day 3/Nov 12(Thur) Guangzhou - Bangkok Arrive Guangzhou at 1720. Connecting flight CZ361 in Guangzhou at 1940. Arrive Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport late at 2150, you will be met with local guide and transferred by coach to your hotel for check-in.

Day 4/Nov 13(Fri) Bangkok Breakfast at hotel. This morning you are free at leisure.

Afternoon: Thonburi Klongs, Royal Barge and Arun A cruise through the Thonburi canals is an experience that no other Asian capital can offer. The journey down the legendary Chao Phraya River, known as the “River of Kings”, and its tributary klongs (canals) gives a perspective on the critical importance this waterway played in the creation of Bangkok and the old capital of Thonburi, hence the title “Venice of the East”. A boat trip takes us to famous riverside landmarks, including stops at the glittering (the Temple of Dawn) and the magnificent Royal Barges Museum. We also proceed past other notable icons such as the Holy Rosary Church, which was built by the Portuguese who were the first Europeans to settle in in the 16th Century; and the Oriental Hotel, famous for hosting celebrated authors such as Joseph Conrad and Somerset Maugham.

Evening: Welcome Thai set dinner at Supatra River House Located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, this beautiful two-storey traditional Thai house is the former home of Khunying Supatra Singholaga, a leading advocate of women's rights in Thailand. Its contemporary décor blends perfectly with the traditional architecture, and the views of the River, Grand Palace, and Wat Arun are downright spectacular.

Day 5/Nov 14(Sat) Bangkok Breakfast at hotel.

Morning: Wat Po & City Sightseeing This tour includes visits to “Wat Po,” with its massive reclining Buddha and drive through the city of Bangkok, via the Indian Market, the wholesale Flower market and China town and the Royal Avenue where the Palace of the King is located.

Afternoon: Half-day Grand Palace Tour (13:00 - 16:30 hrs) The Grand Palace is the “must see” attraction in Bangkok. It is an architectural wonder of golden , walls and pillars encrusted in shining and colourful mosaics. Previously the residence of past Kings of Thailand, you will see palaces once used for different occasions; the Reception Hall, the Coronation Hall, the Throne Hall, the Royal Guest House and Wat Phra Kaew which houses the Emerald Buddha. The architecture is predominantly Thai, though there are some European influences. The palace served as the official residence of kings of Thailand from the 18th to the mid-20th century. The most famous building within the palace grounds is Wat Phra Kaew and this is regarded as the most sacred Buddhist temple in Thailand. Construction of the temple began when King Rama I moved the capital from Thonburi to Bangkok in 1785. The main temple building houses the Emerald Buddha. The Buddha is carved from a single piece of jade and is the most revered object in Thailand.

Day 6/Nov 15(Sun) Bangkok Breakfast at hotel. This morning you are free at leisure.

Morning: Half-day Temples Tour (08:00 - 11:00 hrs) Join an optional Temples tour, visiting 2 other important temples or "" in the city. The first stop is Wat Trimitr, where you'll view the 700-year-old Golden Buddha, the largest in the world weighing approximately 5 tons. (Occasional maintenance work is conducted at Wat Trimitr, in which case passengers will visit instead.) Conclude your temple tour at , also known as the Marble Temple because of its abundance of white Italian marble.

Day 7/Nov 16(Mon) Bangkok - Kanchanaburi After breakfast, travel to Kanchanaburi on the banks of the River Kwai - famed for the River Kwai Bridge built during World War II. Visit the Allied Forces cemetery and spend time in the fascinating Thailand-Burma Railway Center Museum. Today's highlight is a train ride across the famous bridge to Wang Po Station where we have lunch at local restaurant.

This afternoon visit Hellfire Pass Memorial, part of the Death Railway, that cuts through the mountains and now houses a museum detailing life of the Allied prisoners and Asian labourers who helped build, and subsequently suffered or died at Hellfire Pass. Then continuing to your hotel

Day 8/Nov 17(Tue) Kanchanaburi Breakfast at the hotel. Today you are free to relax or enjoy hotel activities on your own pace.

Morning: Full-day Elephant Riding & Bamboo Rafting Visit the elephant camp for elephant rides through the lush jungle setting. This is followed by bamboo rafting and then lunch at a local restaurant. Return to hotel by van and continue to long tailed boat to River Kwai Resotel

Day 9/Nov 18(Wed) Kanchanaburi - Ayutthaya After breakfast, depart for Ayuthaya. The first stop is to visit the ruins of Ayutthaya, the ancient capital of Siam. Visit Wat Phra Srisan Phet and Wat Mongkol Bhopit (Giant seated Buddha image). Continue to visit Bang Pa In, built in the 18th century as a summer residence for the Kings of Ayutthaya, before continuing to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 10/Nov 19(Thur) Ayutthaya - Bangkok Breakfast at hotel. You are free at leisure.

Morning: Half-day Visit Wat Mahathat, Wat Yai Chaimongkol and Wat Chai Watanaram Visit a UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the Ayutthaya historical park including Wat Phra Mahathat temple contains rows of headless Buddha images as well as the famous Buddha head that sits inside a tree. Wat Yai Chaimongkon temple houses a large reclining Buddha image and Wat Chai Wattanaram offers a panoramic view from the top.

Afternoon drive to Bangkok and transfer to your hotel.

Day 11/Nov 20(Fri) Bangkok Breakfast at hotel. You are free at leisure to relax or continue exploring this fascinating town on your own pace.

(Flight info TBA) On arrival at Bangkok Airport, connect with your flight CZ364 from Bangkok to Guangzhou at 1855. Arrive Guangzhou at 2245. Pick up from airport and transfer to hotel for 2 nights.

Day 17/Nov 26(Thur) Guangzhou - Vancouver - Toronto - Thunder Bay Get up early with a guided Tai Chi by Master Peng in the beautiful garden of the hotel. After breakfast, pack your bargains. Transfer to the Int’l airport and board your flight CZ329 at 1400 to Vancouver and connect with your flight home.
