The Island of São Miguel, where we operate, is the biggest of the archipelago, with 62.1 km in length and 15.8 as its maximal width - and gathers more than the half of the Azorean population (137.856 inhabitants in 2011). Due to its development in terms of infrastructure and to the diversity of services available, this gateway to the Azores is also the most accessible. Miguel island. After the unpaved path it’s easy to reach Sete Cidades parish with just a turn to the right. This trail runs through Protected Landscape area. 14

This short circular trail begins and ends opposite the Canário Lake and takes about 2 hours to be completed. Along the way it enables the view of several lakes, (Pau Pique Lake, Éguas Lake and Rasa Lake) and crosses an area ranging between 750 and 900 metres in altitude, that’s the reason why it should be chosen when visibility is good.
