@ZIONESSMOVEMENTwww.zioness.org | 01 WHY DOES ZIONESS EXIST?

Before Zioness launched, the only powerful voices on the progressive left were those who have abandoned in the false effort to prove their progressive credentials. This has had three disturbing consequences: First, it silenced many Jews who felt politically homeless and voiceless. Second, it has fueled the anti- Semitism and anti-Zionism masquerading as “criticism of Israel.” Third, it ceded ground on the left to organizations like IfNotNow and Jewish Voice for Peace that don’t represent our community, but provide cover to other progressives who push dangerous ideas.

American Jews need a grassroots, scalable, movement-oriented response, or we risk our elected leaders taking these voices as serious representations of our community. We need an organization that is sincerely progressive and wants to strengthen the progressive movement by pushing the out from within, not demonize it on behalf of its political opponents.
