We will meet at the Zeiger residence in Rancho Santa Fe and drive over together to the staging site. Time: Arrive at the Zeiger’s between 11:00 AM and 11:45 AM Depart: Promptly at 11:45AM People wanting to ride in one of the parade cars are encouraged to come to the Zeiger’s and “hitch” a ride with one of the drivers. There are floats, fire trucks, vintage cars and children of all ages on scooters and in wagons at this parade. Food is available for purchase at the Parade Site including hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken and ice cream and a concert follows the parade at 1:30 PM. Most of the automobile collection is housed in the museum of the university’s Industrial Design Department on Van Ness Avenue. The cars were collected by Richard A. Stephens, son of the late Richard S. Stevens, who founded the University in 1929 and served as its president until 1951. The younger Stephens served as president until 1992, when he was succeed by his daughter, Elisa Stephens, and named Chair Emeritus.

It takes place at a nice city park just inland from the ocean. The weather was sunny this year, but not too hot. There were many Jags, Rolls- Royces, Bentleys, Packards, MGs, McLarens, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Maseratis, Metropolitans, and Motorcycles (including one with a Ford Flathead V-8 engine!). There was a nice red classic Auburn. There were many GM cars; Chevys, Corvettes, Oldsmobiles, Buicks, and Cadillacs. There was a full spectrum of cars from Ford: Model T’s, Mustangs (including the new 2015 model), T-Birds, and Lincolns. These cars were from the ‘20s to the ‘80s.
