iON Oklahoma’s 30/30 NextGen is the premiere recognition event for Oklahoma’s up and coming leaders. The under-30 demographic continues to increase their value to businesses, advertisers and retailers through their entrepreneurial spirit and online presence. Nationwide, under-30 entrepreneurs include Ben Silbermann, CEO of Pinterest; Daniel Ek of the pioneering music application Spotify, and Drew Houston of the online backup and storage service Dropbox. • People between the ages of 25 to 34 are the most likely to start a business or be involved in other entrepreneurial activities. Estimates from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) show that 17.3% of individuals between the age of 25 and 34 are involved with either starting a business or managing a new business. • Research suggests that businesses started by young, college-educated individuals are most likely to have growth potential and are among the most technologically innovative • According to a Pew Research study, 88% of cell phone owners ages 18-29 had performed one or more of these activities in the past 30 days, compared with 76% of cell owners ages 30-49, 57% of cell owners ages 50-64, and 46% of the owners age 65 and older: o Get help in an emergency situation o Look up something to settle an argument o Get up-to-the-minute traffic or public o Decide whether or not to visit a business, such as transit info restaurant o Look up sports score o Solve an unexpected problem

This year’s 30/30 NextGen Awards ceremony will be Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the Petroleum Club in downtown . This event offers an unprecedented opportunity to reach the influencers, leaders and achievers of Oklahoma’s upcoming generation through varying sponsorship levels.
