We are now in a world where the virtual and the physical have synchronized in diverse ways. CMedia surround us and we are saturated by their presence. Digital media platforms like Facebook, Twitter or Whatsapp facilitated conversation about community engagement, collaboration and change yet fake news, misinformation and disinformation remained a challenge. Media education is going through very exciting times. Challenges are there but to exploit the upcoming opportunities, good media professional’s intervention is required and learners and trainers, both need to welcome and embrace newer technologies. In times of the epidemic, the responsibilities have become far more challenging and exacting. Education has suffered the most. The online mode of education has evolved in a short period of time and helped the continuity of the education system.Young minds should identify their strengths and start working towards sharpening their skills and domain knowledge. Our departmental magazine Media Times is an endeavor to expand students’ understanding of how to operate in the changing media environment by providing hands on training in reporting, editing and production process which enables them to face the competition and challenges in the industry.
