Chip bags, • Bag all garbage. Loose items cannot be collected. Garbage cans: Maximum bundle size 75 x 75 x 20 centimetres • Must have a completely detachable lid. Remove lid for collection. (30 x 30 x 8 inches). Place beside the blue box • Must have two handles for collectors to lift and empty. for collection. • Must be maintained in a safe, sanitary and usable condition. • Maximum height of 84 centimetres (33 inches). • Maximum volume of 121 litres (32 gallons). • Maximum weight of 23 kilograms (50 pounds). • Do not use a cardboard box as a garbage container. The Region of Waterloo will only collect approved-size blue boxes. Recycling boxes can be purchased at local retailers. For the safety of the collectors (who reach into thousands of boxes each day to sort into their truck), an approved recycling box must: • Be a reusable, rectangular blue plastic box. • Have a rim around the top of the blue box. • Be made of rigid plastic that does not bend or give when lifted. Over 90 per cent of collected blue box Size for Containers only blue box (bottles, cans, cartons, jars): material gets recycled. Thank you for sorting. no larger than 91 litres (24 gallons).
