Special features

The new Choa Chu Kang Public Library has some special features. Among them are:

• Metallic “tree” in the children’s section – showcase artwork from schools and community groups • Expressions corner in the children’s section – a colourful open area to facilitate children’s reading • Talk zone – This is a prototype at CCK to look at alternative ways to curb the disturbance caused by the use of mobile phones in the libraries. NLB does not encourage the use of mobile phones in the libraries, but recognize that with the pervasive use of mobile phones, it is an uphill task to ask all users to leave the library to use their handphones. In CCK, users has the flexibility to answer to any urgent calls in the talk zone.
