  • PKR Welcomes New S'gor PAS Leadership Malaysiakini.Com June 13, 2011
PKR welcomes new S'gor PAS leadership Malaysiakini.com June 13, 2011 The new PAS leadership is the reflection of the party's grassroots and the result of their desire for the party's renewal. Saying this today, Selangor PKR, also described the Islamist party's new lineup as “bad news” for Selangor Umno in its attempt to wrest the state from Pakatan Rakyat. It also welcomed incoming Selangor PAS chief Dr Abdul Rani Osman as someone who could serve to bring about a second “nightmare” for Selangor Umno following that party's dismal performance in March, 2008. “... At one point, they (Umno) had extended the hand of 'unity', the 'sincerity' of which the rakyat know very well. This change is the beginning of the end that has been written (for Umno)!” said Selangor PKR information chief Shuhaimi Shafiei (above) in a statement. “This appointment (of Abdul Rani) will give a great impact to the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat partners due to his rapport with Selangor PKR leadership and the frontline leadership of Selangor DAP,” said Shuhaimi, who is also Sri Muda state representative. Abdul Rani is also Meru state legislator. Shuhaimi's remarks follow the announcement of PAS' national lineup for 2011-2013 following the party polls it held slightly more than one week ago. It was announced yesterday that Mustafa Ali (right) has been reappointed as PAS secretary-general for his second term, and the appointment of three vice-secretary-generals in the persons of Takiyudin Hasan, Syed Azman Syed Ahmad Nawawi and Ahmad Sabki Yusof. These were made known yesterday by party president Abdul Hadi Awang after chairing the party's central working committee meeting at the party's headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.
