Directions:

To Jugendherberge Ostkreuz from Schönefeld Airport (SXF): The fastest way tot he Jugendherberge is with the RE regional train. From Schönefeld you can take either the RE 7 in the direction of Dessau/Hauptbahnhof or the RE 14 in the direction of Nauen/Bahnhof for 13 minutes (one stop) to Ostkreuz station. Alternatively, you can also take the S-Bahn S9 in the direction of Spandau for 9 minutes (3 stops) to Adlershof station and then transfer to the S8 in the direction of Birkenwerder Bhf for 16 minutes (6 stops) until you reach Ostkreuz station. From Ostkreuz (see map below), take the "Sonntagstraße" exit, turn right to Neue Bahnhofstraße and walk straight on to the end of the street. Turn right to Boxhagener Straße, pass the underpass and then the intersection with Kynaststraße to go down Marktstraße. The entrance to the youth hostel is on the right side.

To Jugendherberge Ostkreuz from Tegel Airport (TXL): Take the TXL bus in the direction of S+U Alexanderplatz for 8 minutes (2 stops) to Beusselstraße. There, transfer to the S- Bahn S41 and ride for 22 minutes (10 stops) until you reach Ostkreuz station. From Ostkreuz (see map above), take the "Sonntagstraße" exit, turn right to Neue Bahnhofstraße and walk straight on to the end of the street. Turn right to Boxhagener Straße, pass the underpass and then the intersection with Kynaststraße to go down Marktstraße. The entrance to the youth hostel is on the right side.

To Jugendherberge Ostkreuz from the main train station (Hauptbahnhof): Remain in the station and walk to the highest level to take the S-Bahn. Take any eastbound S-Bahn (S3

to Erkner, S5 to Strausberg Nord, or S7 to Ahrensfelde Bhf) for about 16 minutes (7 stops) until you reach Ostkreuz station. From Ostkreuz (see map above), take the "Sonntagstraße" exit, turn right to Neue Bahnhofstraße and walk straight on to the end of the street. Turn right to Boxhagener Straße, pass the underpass and then the intersection with Kynaststraße to go down Marktstraße. The entrance to the youth hostel is on the right side.

Helpful tips:

• The weather in Berlin will be rather chilly and you can expect temperatures to be below 10 degrees. Please do not forget to bring enough warm clothes and be prepared for rain! • Hostel House Rules: o You will be responsible for making your bed and ensuring that the room re- mains tidy. o Only one towel has been provided for you for the entire meeting, so please plan accordingly. o The doors in the hostel are designed to close automatically to prevent fires. Blocking or propping open the doors is strictly prohibited and will be pun- ished with a fine. An alarm will sound if a door is held open for too long. o No outside food or drink is allowed in the common areas, but you may eat in your room. o Quiet hours begin at 10 pm. Please respect your fellow participants and do not play music, talk in the hallways, or make other loud noise after this time. o Smoking is prohibited throughout the Jugendherberge Ostkreuz, even in most outdoor areas. There are two designated smoking areas marked with an ashtray: one outside of the seminar building and one in the grass oppo- site the playground. • Meal times:

o Meal times will be divided into three rotating shifts. You will be given a meal schedule that will show the shifts assigned to you. There is a limited number of seats in the cafeteria, please be punctual and do not come to the cafeteria before or after your assigned mealtime. o Vegetarian options will be provided. Vegan options are also available upon request. Unfortunately, we cannot provide Halal or Kosher options. o At the end of the meal, you will be responsible for clearing your own dishes and wiping down the tables. o Bottles, glasses, and dishes for items bought at the “Ostkreuz Lounge” next to the reception need to be returned there, not placed on the same cart as the dishes from the cafeteria. • Safety o Each room will be given two key cards to lock the door. All doors lock automatically after 30 seconds. There is a 5 euro fine for a lost key card. o Two security personnel will be on the property after 10 pm. o Alcoholic beverages can be purchased at the Ostkreuz Lounge and may also be consumed in your rooms. Please consume alcohol responsibly! o In case of emergency, contact a support assistant or youth leader, who can then contact the necessary emergency service.
