16.10.2017 7 Innovation: 3D Seismic Survey
• 3D multichannel seismic survey visualizes the seabed layers in a model and creates a “soil investigation hub” displaying all relevant data in one place. • Advantage of reducing costs for boreholes & geo survey campaign by several million €/farm and having a good overview of soil conditions for design concepts, cable laying, jacking procedure etc.
04.12.2017 8 Innovation: Foundation Corrosion Protection
• Thermal Sprayed Aluminum (TSA) with an epoxy paint as a sealer replaces the conventional corrosion protection with Anode Rings + CAT III Coating • Compared to conventional concepts TSA saves costs and several hundreds tons of metal emissions • TSA is applied onshore and therefore increased the safety by avoiding offshore works
• All monopiles have been fully coated with ~45m TSA • Constant quality and within approved specifications
04.12.2017 9 German Renewables Award 2017
• Thermal Sprayed Aluminum (TSA) has won the German Renewables Award as Innovation of the year 2017. • Team effort by companies E.ON, Statoil, Ramboll, Bladt, EEW and Krebs. • Independent Jury of science and industry: “The procedure developed by E.ON reduces the environmental impact and at the same time lowers the costs for the construction of offshore wind farms,”
04.12.2017 10 Supply of Monopiles
11 Status of Foundation Installation
• The 60th monopiles has been installed on the 09th of November at 4 a.m. All monopiles have been installed successfully.
12 Status of Transition Piece Installation
• The start of TP installation took place on the 7.November. • Currently 5 TPs are installed.
04.12.2017 13 Electrical Offshore Substation
• Shared electrical offshore substation with TSO 50Hertz • Grid Operator (TSO) is 50Hertz Transmission • Onshore grid connection point in Lubmin
• Unmanned offshore platform • Prepiled jacket foundation (1000t) • Top side (4000 t) • Manufacturing by STX, St. Nazaire, France
14 Innovation: Heated Boat Landing
• The fenders and ladder of the Offshore Substation’s boat landing will be electrical heated
• Connection to SCADA system for remote control
• Increases the availability of access to the substation during cold weather periods
• Improves safety and reduces risks

Example pictures not from Arkona Operation & Maintencance
• Following the construction phase E.ON will take over the operation & maintenance of the Arkona wind park
• Sassnitz/Port Mukran will be the basis for operation & maintenance in the next 25years
• Operation & maintenance will be executed with 2-3 CTVs and an own operations team
E.ON will be the first operator who will operate offshore wind parks and the North and Baltic Sea
