Reporter Jongsoon, Chung

Seonjaedo Island where is easily accessible by car is well known as one of the beautiful islands in Korea. It has once been nominated for the most beautiful islands in Korea by CNN. There is a sandy path called The Miracle Sea Path, which is 1km away to Mokseom Island. You may feel as if you are walking on the water walking through the path. Seonjae Fishing Village provides activities such as fishing and dig- ging clams. Entering further, you may reach to Yeongheungdo Island as well. It used to take an hour to get here in the past, but now it’s much easier to access by car since the opening of Yeo- ngheung Bridge. Another place to visit nearby is Sipli-po, one of the representative beaches in Yeongheungdo. You may enjoy swimming and get some rest in the cool shade of a tent with a drink in your hand!

Daecheongdo Island, the hidden and unknown island Among the 168 islands of Incheon, there are places where the nature and ancient mystery are pre- served until now. One of these places is called Daecheongdo Island. This place is secluded and barely known in the world. Located in the southwest coast, Seopungbaji is spectacular scenery where the rocks rise above the vertical cliff. The name itself 'Daecheong' came from its geographical characteristic that blocks the winds blowing from China through the Yellow Sea. Okjukdong Beach is also famous for its beautiful scenery and sand dune. This is the largest sand dune in Korea, which is about 1.6km in length. Old Meets New at Insa-dong Street food and souvenirs at Ssamziegil, landmark of Insa-dong Located between Anguk Station (Seoul Subway Line 3) and Jongno 2-ga, Insa-dong is a cultural space where traditions and modern life blend seamlessly. Stretching out on both sides of the approximately 700 meter main street are shops bursting with crafts, artworks, and souvenirs. In particular, the square-shaped cultural complex of Ssamziegil is im- mensely popular. Each floor offers unique selection of small crafts and clothing as well as snack vendors. It is extremely difficult to resist the temptation of street foods and brightly colored souvenirs as you walk through Insa-dong. The street food is generally priced around 2,000 to 3,000 won for one item, while fans, bookmarks, pencilcases, and luck pouches are some of the more popular inexpensive gifts available for 3,000 won or less.
