Suffolk

Suffolk Breed Characteristics include: ● Black Face and Legs ● Hornless (Pulled) ● Long Black ears ● Can be a tall breed or a short breed.

Uses for : ● Suffolk Sheep are mainly used for the meat. They are a fast gaining breed with big bone to help make them grow fast. Suffolk sheep are sheep with a black face and blacks legs. They have from the top of their necks down to their hips.

Dorset Dorset Breed Characteristics include: ● Pink Nose ● All white body ● This goes for both Pulled and Horned Dorsets. ● Can be a tall breed or a short breed.

Purpose of Dorset Sheep: ● Dorset Sheep are mainly used for meat. ● Dorsets are known for having lambs all year round Dorset sheep are a sheep that are all white with a pink nose. Pulled Dorsets are more common than Horned Dorsets.

Lincoln Long Wool Lincoln Long wool Breed Characteristics: ● Wool all over body except nose ● They may be completely white, or coloured. ● They are a bigger sheep known for their wool

Purpose of Lincoln Long wool sheep: ● Lincoln sheep are mainly used for their long wool. The wool is curled (crimped) which makes it really good for wool products. Spinners will pay a premium for their fleece. Lincoln sheep can also be raised for meat.

Finaly Southdowns and Lincolns, Lucknow, ON

Southdown Southdown Breed Characteristics: ● Dark Nose ● Wool mouse colour ● Pulled, no horns ● Wool all around body, face, feet and legs

Purpose of : ● Southdowns are excellent meat producers. They are mainly raised for meat because of their thick long body’s.

Oxford Oxford Breed Characteristics: ● Black/brown face ● brown/black wool legs ● White spot on nose ● Wool all over face including ears

Purpose of Oxford Sheep: ● Oxford sheep are mainly raised for their meat production. Their big bone long body’s are good characteristics for meat.

Border Leicester Long Wool Sheep Breed Characteristics: ● Black nose ● Short white hairs covering legs and face ● Body covered in curly (crimped) wool

Purpose of Border Leicester Sheep: ● Leicester sheep are mainly used for their long wool. The wool is curled (crimped) which makes it really good for wool products. Spinners will pay a premium for their fleece. Leicester sheep can also be raised for meat.

Purpose of Hampshire Sheep: ● Hampshire sheep are very well for meat production. They are mainly raised for meat. Their bodys are long and thick which are good for meat as well as they gain weight fast to make them a good market lamb.
